I'd just like to add that he went into the Tua fight with like 16 fights against DECENT opposition at best. If this man had developed at the same rate for even one more year, there is no denying he would have been the man to beat Lewis and all the contenders Lewis beat for years.

Ike is an enigma with his whopping 20 fights. He'll never return to the ring, and his career was cut short.
Either way Holyfield would have kicked his ass with ease.

Might have been better. But then again, Holyfield was a cruiserweight competing at heavyweight so anything Holyfield accomplished there is blown up immensely. Holyfield was a better fighter p4p, but no way could he beat Ibeabuchi at heavyweight.Comment

Ike was good, but any of the big fighters with good jabs could have taken him, Vitali included. Lennox would have handled Ike pretty easily, I think.
I was never OVERLY impressed with him. The fight with Tua was good, but nothing where I'd say "Oh, that guy Ike is a great HW." It was like a HW Gatti-Ward or Corrales-Castillo, where they just sat and hooked and looped punches at each other non-stop. And he caught Byrd napping against the ropes with a good shot. That's about the extent of his career. And from that you say he was headed to being one of the top 5 HW's of ALL TIME? Dude, you're drunk, stoned, and ****** if you think that.
Ike is a piece of **** as a person and deserves to be in jail. Ike the fighter never really was and never will be.Comment

Ike outslugged Tua. I think you guys have the wrong idea or haven't seen this fight because you act like Ike took a beating at Tua's hands. Ike chose to slug with him, which is amazing because no one had ever done that with Tua or has successfully done it since. You misunderstand completely. Ike would have won easier if he didn't slug but he got himself into a war and he still one. Can you name any other fighters that could have done that at heavyweight? Foreman maybe...you guys are being really blind and I think it's just because Ike is a criminal.Comment
