Maybe............JUST MAYBE.......it swelled up because Danny was punching him a lot in the face. Idk.......

It swelled from some freak brush of the right hand. Total weird thing. There was a video of it a couple days after the fight. Not an excuse, **** happens, but it wasn't because Lucas was eating punches.

Rematch doesn't need to happen, but I'd like to see it. It was a good fight and very competitive. If Danny is sticking around 140, a rematch is a better fight than anything else. I'd pick Danny, it's more likely that he gets better than things stay exactly the same but Lucas wins this time.

anyone that watched the fight and isn't just a biased tool can tell you it definitely didn't swell from accumulation

you'd actually be hardpressed to find lucas eating many if any punches to the face in the first 6-7rds(before the eye swelling anyway)

garcia was not hitting anything

i'd like to see a rematch because i think lucas was unfortunate with that eye, but more importantly even after the eye the end scores are still a very close fight albeit a garcia win

I don't really feel it was ''clear cut'' he got the nod but that was because of a knockdown which should not of been called. If rightly called then Lucas takes the fight by 1 point on two scorecards.

Any other ref would of probably disqualified him for those low blows.

Well if the lowblows was accidental then he must have extremely poor accuracy considering how many he also hit Khan, Morales & Theophane with. In fact his accuracy does suck, he barely hit Lucas with anything but lowblows in the first half of the fight.

He was very fortunate that night.

A rematch will play out similarly, only this time Garcia will know what to expect and have an easier time. Lucas is great but he fights one way. Danny makes adjustments and has now seen many different styles. He deserves credit.

I would love to see a rematch with a firmer referee. I don't believe Garcia wins more convincingly. I think with a firmer referee he gets beat down badly.
He did all he could and I seen no adjustments just rough and illegal tactics for most part.
Lucas was the one in there adjusting with a badly damaged eye.

The video clearly indicates this wasn't the case and I suppose Khan, Morales & Theophane was pulling his head down too?

I agree. I think it was a closer fight than often made out.
The knock-down was about iffy..lots of low-blows and the eye swelling took a bit of the competitiveness out of the fight.

Props to Garcia..he did his thing, but i think a rematch would be fun. I'd go with a Lucas win.

I respect Danny and he's grown on me as a fighter, but he knows he got lucky.

Saying that, the Lucas hype on NSB before the fight was ridiculous.
