Marquez and Bradley were P4P fighters when Pacquiao faced them. Cotto was not P4P when Floyd faced him.
In that sense JMM was the #2 P4P fighter when Mayweather fought him, and Mosley was up there as well when Mayweather fought him.

There is a difference between legit champions and paper champions. You can say Ortiz(Berto), Cotto(Foreman), and Canelo(Hatton) were paper champions when Floyd faced them. There is also a saying that its tougher to defend your title than to take it from a champion.
Ortiz was the WBC champion and won it in the ring=fact..Guerrero was the interim WBC champ won it in the ring=fact...Juan had 0 wins at ww when Manny fought him and neither did Rios and Bradley had 1 against a no name yet somehow they are above proven ww's???

stating facts on here seems pointless

          Belts dont mean anything,,

so a fighter over the past year could have fought
          burns
          pauli
          k9
          berto
          morales

and been a 4 divison champ and idiots would think he is the p4p #1.. all those guys were champs

Fighting fighters that are truely top level fighters and the same size as manny def means something.. Its called critical thinking

beating ortiz, canelo, ghost does not mean much,, Cotto was a decent win but cotto is past prime and shane was totally shot with no legs....

Anyone that is unbiased can see that manny took a tougher schedule

jmm and bradley both top 10 p4p, so that is 3 fights for manny vs top 10 p4p , and floyd has zero,,, nobody with any dignity would put canelo, ghost, cotto, ortiz or mosely on p4p lists,,

            Manny:
            Rios (Lost previous fight.)
Marquez (Wily vet who jumped back in P4P discussion after shocking the world.)
Bradley (Undefeated young champion, P4P top 10 at the time)
Marquez (Looked like he was on his last legs going in. Exceeded expectations and won the fight in my opinion.)
Mosley (Hadn't won in two years. Joke fight.)

            Floyd:
Canelo (Undefeated young champion in a unification bout. Floyd moved up.)
Guerrero (#1 contender for WBC title.)
Cotto (WBA Champion. Floyd moved up to 154.)
            Ortiz (WBC champion.)
Mosley (WBA champion. Coming off best performance in my opinion.)
BONUS: Marquez (Wiped out Manny's archrival, who was P4P #2.)

            Floyd takes this easily.
Floyd was champion at 154 when he faced Canelo, he didn't "move up." Canelo(M. Hatton), Cotto(Foreman), and Ortiz(Berto) were paper champions when Floyd faced them. Yeah Mayweather beat Marquez easily, but Pacquiao gave Cotto, Mosley, Hatton, De La Hoya beatings, unlike anything Floyd could do. Pacquiao didn't struggle with Cotto, Mosley, Hatton, De La Hoya at all. Floyd did.

No we don't go by Ring p4p ratings. Ring is biased as Golden Boy owns it. Therefore they can manipulate the rankings how they see fit to suit their own personal agenda. p4p is different for every one but Robert nor Canelo were ever seen as p4p by anyone other than their most die hard fans.
