Groves' team appealed to the board on grounds of impartiality from the referee - much different. They actually had some things to back it up, yet it was dismissed on the very night on the fight - actually not allowed from the board's own rules.

An offer wasn't made in writing or anywhere else, and I doubt Frank Warren would base that on something Groves said in a press conference straight after the fight You're clutching at straws here.

If he was serious about making an offer, he would have made an offer. That's the bottom line.
Groves didn't just say it in the press conference after the fight. He said it in several interviews that he "bashed up" DeGale already and didn't need to fight him again.

    Selective memory you have.

What do you expect? He's a Hayemaker fan.

        He probably did.

Regardless, that's not solid grounds for Warren to not put forward an offer.

Anyway, this is getting old. Hopefully they both win next week and we can see if Groves is "running" from DeGale after that.

Bottom line -Groves is hypocrite and liar. We know where he gets it from. I think he wins Saturday and I hope DeGale finally gets the chance to get the rematch that Ugly Kid has been running from for years.

I have a bad feeling that Groves is going to "Hayemaker" his way out of it though. The signing with Sauerland is probably his first step in his next Ducking Mission.

Yeah huge Hayemaker fan. That's why I like Groves too.

It has nothing to do with the fact that I was actually covering all these things as they happened and actually know wtf went on as opposed to resort to things like:

"Groves said in an interview he didn't need to fight DeGale. He didn't offer him an immediate rematch therefore he's running".

Come on guys, at least do me the courtesy and step it up a bit.

Oh shut up. Groves is one of the ugliest guys who has ever put on boxing gloves. And apparently his breath smells.

James is much, much more handsome than George.

                    • i had degale beating groves too and was surprised there wasnt a rematch considering how close and controversial the decision was, how much people got into it and the fact that it was an upset.

it needed a rematch just as much as froch-groves imo, basically as much as any fight could. it ticked just about all the boxes.

hopefully it happens after froch-groves regardless of who wins.
