My thoughts, too. Groves will probably avoid DeGale and go after a shopworn Kessler. He'll also likely duck Stieglitz (again).

It has nothing to do with the fact that I was actually covering all these things as they happened and actually know wtf went on as opposed to resort to things like:

"Groves said in an interview he didn't need to fight DeGale. He didn't offer him an immediate rematch therefore he's running".

Come on guys, at least do me the courtesy and step it up a bit.
      Sorry, I couldn't resist

it needed a rematch just as much as froch-groves imo, basically as much as any fight could. it ticked just about all the boxes.

hopefully it happens after froch-groves regardless of who wins.
I can't see that at all.

There was hardly any public outcry for a rematch.

Yeah because most of the public loved the fact that the poor bullied Ginger Kid stole the decision.

I agree it was controversial. And I change my mind every time I see the fight - which is not often because it was a stinker.

But stole a decision? Come on.

Not many people thought it was a great fight at all, because it wasn't. Froch-Groves was a great fight.

It was telling that none of the judges scored the 12th for DeGale, essentially suring up the fight for Groves. DeGale clearly landed the cleaner punches in that round - not sure if Groves even landed much of anything significant.

This "public outcry" argument is another poor one because I don't remember the public outcry for Groves to fight Paul Smith or any of the other bums he fought.

I don't remember exactly how it played out, but I do remember DeGale coming on strong in the end.

Perhaps, but again, you can't compare those kinds of fights as they are made easily and in no time. They don't require build up, the purses are easy to figure out and the promotions are hardly staggering.

It would take a lot more to make a rematch and it's a lot riskier as well.
