But their slow it down style is not crowd pleasing and they are asking your entertainment dollar.
Rigo is a skilled tactitian, but when your asking people to pay huge ticket prices or buy PPV at $50-60 a pop people are going to want to actually be entertained.
That's actually an unfair stigma that hasn't been true about the Spurs for a few years. The past couple of years there hasn't been many teams more entertaining to watch.

Which actually proves the point that once you have the "boring" label, it's very hard to get rid of.

Yall claim to not like them because they're too boring right (despite pitching out shutouts) and yall claim that they was too boring right? So lets say they do risk their own health, career, and longevity by fighting like a drunken idiots throwing wild punches, then what? Yall still wouldn't like them and you know how I know that? Timothy fuckin Bradley. That's why. Even after going to war with Ruslan P, he still gets shitted on by yall after schooling, shuting out and almost knocking out Marquez, he still had very minimal fans in attendance, he still didnt get rocognition or even praise when Ruslan went on to beat Alvarado. Infact no one even mentioned Bradley's name after Ruslan beat Alarado.

Yall just want them to fight "exciting" so they can lose.
Everybody acknowledges that Tim is tough but that's about it. You can't get too much credit for being in a war when the only real exciting rds was the ones you was getting pounded in.

I agree with you, but it will never change. Take Bhop for example most of the fans or guys on this forum call Bhop boring. What most don't know is that Bhop was called the executioner for a reason! Bhop was a silent assassin up until after the Trinidad and Oscar fights. Bhop was a stalker. It wasn't until he hit his late 30's right around the 1st JTaylor fight that he realized he had to approach the fight game differently. He no longer had the athletic advantages, youth, and sustained energy throughout an entire fight to win. So he had to adapt and use his experience and all the craft he could muster to do what he's doing now. Even if it included bending/breaking the rules. But shame on the guys who can'tbeat a 50 year old man. Foreman did it too, the difference is foreman had fight ending power. But foreman would throw no more than 20 punches a round, lean/hold to get an advantage. I'm talking the foreman whom beat moored, battle holyfield and others. Ali did what bhop is doing late in his career too. Many other ATG's did what bhop is doing later in their careers. Floyd would go for KO's to, up until he started fighting guys whom weighed more the 20lbs more than him.

The fact rios got the manny fight instead of alvarado, the notion that ruslan should fight JMM or the loser of manny/rios and not the winner, the notion that khan would get floyd before danny garcia or cotto would get a title shot ahead of Trout should be something all of us are against.

I'm all for fighters making money but it should be based on winning.
People pay for entertainment though. So yea, I don't see why they should get paid for just for winning. Why would a champion risk a bigger payday against someone else, and instead fight a boring slick "winner" who stinks up the place every time he fights? Money > Legacy here, and as a Mayweather fan I thought you'd be well acquainted with the concept

This isn't a legacy discussion. Its about how fighters get fights. People don't pay for entertainment, they pay to see boxing matches.

You make more money when you win and go on to a bigger fight. Thats always been the case. The reason "slick" fighters have boring fights is because their opponents stop throwing. If Nonito or Canelo, for example, kept throwing, the excitement you crave would have happened.

I would think everyone would agree its better for the sport if the guy that wins gets the bigger fights. I think the backlash towards rios/manny and the possible khan/floyd fight shows this.

People only pay for boxing matches if they think it will be entertaining, if boxing, or any other sport, wasn't entertaining anyone then nobody would watch it. Of course what counts as entertainment can be different for different people and there are always people who will follow fighters because they are from their town or country or 'race' or even because of their personality, but in general it is excitement in the form of brutal action that fans want to see.

'Slick' fighters just need to be matched better, Rigondeaux-Donaire was an interesting matchup in a sporting sense but stylistically was always going to be boring. Rigondeaux against someone like Leo Santa Cruz or more realistically Kiko Martinez will likely be entertaining.

Out of the fighters named only Floyd makes the really big money because he has a multitude of the qualities people want to see, qualities that go beyond the desire for just brutal action. Most fighters can't make really big money without being highly exciting, they need to be more aggressive if they want to win more fans and make more money.

They shouldn't. Every fighter should fight their fights and fight within their style, regardless of what people say. There's a fighter with a particular style that would suit any boxing fan. If someone doesn't like the way a particular fighter fights, they don't have to watch.

With that said, just don't go complaining that Wlad sucks because he doesn't fight like Tyson

unfortunately hardcore fans are outnumbered by casual and fair weather fans. They pay for entertainment, for someone to get ktfo or a back n forth war.....they wont pay for a runner, a slick fighter, a fighter whod rather juke n jive then exchange. Some fight for themselves, some fight for glory, in the end, all are fighting for money, thats the bottom line

All you have to do is look at the fan bases who do the most b1tching and complaining about their styles and that will explain it all

Donaire fans are bitter that Rigondeaux embarrassed their guy and made him look extra ordinary

Froch and Kessler fans are bitter at Ward because he dominated both fairly easy

And Mayweather some people are just in desperation mode when it comes to him at this point they would be happy if someone can knock him down in a losing effort and they would gladly take that Moral Victory and brag about him being knocked down despite winning

If you so desperately want to see these fighter lose then...YEAH you should be campaigning for them to change their style and that is all guys like Lampley and Casual Boxing Fans are doing because they know if those fighters continue to fight that way...The Fighters They Wish To See Defeat Them WILL NEVER HAVE A ***IN CHANCE!

Putting on a Boxing Clinic for 10-12 Rounds is far more impressive than scoring a quick KO because like JMM knocking out Pacquiao people can say "IT WAS LUCKY" but when you take a man soul and break him down emotionally, spiritually and physically neither him and his fans can say anything or make any excuses! I sure don't see Robert Guerrero or Canelo fans calling for a rematch with Mayweather HAHAHA
