Why should Rigo, BHOP, Ward, Floyd or any slick fighter fight "more entertaining"?

The fact rios got the manny fight instead of alvarado, the notion that ruslan should fight JMM or the loser of manny/rios and not the winner, the notion that khan would get floyd before danny garcia or cotto would get a title shot ahead of Trout should be something all of us are against.
I'm all for fighters making money but it should be based on winning.

Correct. It's prize fighting afterall.
Some people dont want to pay to see certain guys. And they dont
Not everybody is an athlete or boxer and can appreciate the genius so blood and guts appeals to more people and it makes them feel like they got their money's worth. They dont HAVE to be more entertaining...but it'll help in bringing in money. Bradley is a special case because of the Pac fight just kind of gave him that stigma...

In any other sport would we ask the athletes to not use their skills in favor of entertainment?
This is a promoter cop out. Promotional companies are hired by a fighter to find opponents they can perform well against and to market the fight, hoepfully getting a prime TV slot.
There are plenty of "opponents" out their for these kind of fighters. If a promotional team (promoter and matchmaker) be it TR/GBP/K2 /Dibella etc does its job right, these kinds of fighters will be in the kinds of winnable fights that will entertain fans.Last edited by The Big Dunn; 10-22-2013, 09:50 AM.

There is no direct causal relationship between excitement and money. If there was, toughman would still be on the air.

personally i dont see how you can call yourself a boxing fan when you dont enjoy boxing in its purest form, what is the very name of the game. but i will leave that for now, what i truly cant comprehend is why those fighters or anyone else should alter their fighting styles for anyone, its their lives, their careers and their health. hence its their choice.
if you dont like it dont tune in, but who are you to tell them to change? dont pretend nobody enjoys watching them fight either because thats just a lie. plenty of ppl appreciate quality boxing and dont want these fighters to change one it.

So lets say they do risk their own health, career, and longevity by fighting like a drunken idiots throwing wild punches, then what? Yall still wouldn't like them and you know how I know that? Timothy fuckin Bradley. That's why. Even after going to war with Ruslan P, he still gets shitted on by yall after schooling, shuting out and almost knocking out Marquez, he still had very minimal fans in attendance, he still didnt get rocognition or even praise when Ruslan went on to beat Alvarado. Infact no one even mentioned Bradley's name after Ruslan beat Alarado.
Yall just want them to fight "exciting" so they can lose.
