Otherwise Vlad is the best "boxer" on the planet, he accomplishes that premise better then just about anyone, he almost never gets hit clean. Yet most fans of floyd don't agree with that, why exactly?
    not black enough.

Bob Arum of Top Rank has been outspoken about the repercussions of Guillermo Rigondeaux’s decision win over Nonito Donaire this past April. While the win established Rigondeaux as the champion at 122 pounds, the manner in which he boxed his way to victory didn’t bring a level of marketability befitting his accomplishments. After an extended period in which Rigondeaux didn’t have a return date on television, he’s at last set to appear on HBO on Dec. 7 in a bout against Joseph “King Kong” Agbeko. “I think Rigondeaux deserves to be back on television. I just hope he fights a more fan-friendly fight in his next fight,” Arum said on Oct. 18 at the weigh-in for Mike Alvarado vs. Ruslan Provodnikov.

Read this article and tell me I'm wrong. You can have your conspiracy theories about HBO but this sounds very much Arum telling Rigondeaux how to fight. What do you think he means by "fan friendly"?
it means, quit chasing points and knock his ads out because you can.

So what did Bhop said? Because I could see a quote in the threadstarter rant even "doe" his headline made it look like he would be quoting Bhop in his post.

to watch? or if you were fighting? Im sure if you were in the ring you wouldnt fight like ruslan at all...probably quit after being hit in the face one time

Boxing is great because their are so many styles. People appreciate different things. Everyone loves ****ers, sluggers, and swarmers....they are usuually shooting stars, shine bright but fizzle fast and sudden

Boxer-punchers, counterpunchers, and slick guys usually last longer and have more success at the highest level

This pretentious buffoon is basically saying ''I can't stand it when non black fighters have success, I want black fighters getting all the accolades'' As well as that moron Barry Robinson, you can tell how they struggle to hide their racial preference for fighters...

Who remembers brotha Hopkins standing behind most of Pacquiao's opponents for a while cheering them on he was hoping and wishing for that streak to end!

Bradley is a top fighter. Regarldess of how you think he should of fought, Ruslan cut the ring well and made him fight his fight at times, that alone shows there should be no problem with having him in the discussion against a top fighter. Whether or not he could beat the "top fighters" is one thing, but he is a legit champion now and deserves to be in the conversation against anybody, he has a belt to bring to the table

Understanding or appreciating and actually finding certain styles entertaining are 2 totally different things. I fully understand and can appreciate the style of a slickster such as Bhop or Floyd. I found Hopkins performance against Pavlik very entertaining. It was a true boxing clinic. I also found both his fights with pascal very entertaining as well. Truth is he's also been in quite a few stinkers. I can say the same for Floyd and Ward as well as several other technical boxers as well.

Now just because certain fans aren't entertained by actionless fighting doesn't mean they don't understand what's going it. It just means that when tuning in to see a fight they expect to see an actual fight. Not a display of let's see who can make who miss more without trying to hurt or take your opponent out.

So at the end of the day there's no wonder why many boxing fans (mainly causals) prefer the style of say Ruslan or a Pacquiao to that of a defensive slickster. When you're watching fighters who are willing to put it all on line, take one in order to get theirs in, and who's main objective is to obliterate their opponent, there's no wonder why they get more praise than someone who prefers to play it safe and focus on merely playing tag you're it with their opponent with the objective of scoring a bland safe points victory. Its like watching 2 guys play the violin vs watching an action packed concert.
The world doesn't think like you, only fanatics do. When a slick fighters loses, they want to see him again. Guys like Prov get ktfo and you clowns move on to the next guy that you can compare to a slickster, and this goes on and on. That's why you created this thread. It was Pac, then Margarito, then Matthysse, and GG, and now Prov. Now the Russian fw is greater than Rigo and almost an atg. We know we know, lmao.

To each his own. I dont think he should be but if you guys want to crown him an ATG already thrn by all means go ahead.

NSB has just fallen in love with the new flavor of the month. I remember when it was Trout who is now boring and not that good. Like i said though ruslan is a Fun little sc****r but no where near the top boys.
