  • When Madiana beat Bronner the wheels set in motion....Floyd could probably hardly contain his glee, perhaps he was feeling a little guilty because Bronner's hamarti became Floyd's new cash cow....Madiana is easy money for Floyd and Floyd knows that...He is acting coy like Madiana is a "possibility" and nothing is farther from the truth;

    The truth is that Floyd will fight Madiana....He will NOT fight Kahn because Floyd knows that Kahn is dangerous and Madiana is easy money...I will eat crow if floyd fights Kahn, I bet anyone that Flloyd fights Madiana. The only reason Kahn was initially considered was as a last ditch effort...I mean who else can Floyd fight? Floyd is laughing at everyone all the way to the bank acting like Kahn is seriously being considered....You bet that it is Floyd's intention to fight the slow footed loop puncher instead of the guy with a jab and some reach and speed.

      So now Khan is dangerous and Mayweather would go with the "easier"option in Maidana right? I guess the guy is caught between a hard place and a rock then hey.

        Saying that, I think it will actually be Khan this time.
        Out of all of those examples, Alexander is the only one that "they" actually did leak out.

          Doesn't Bradley have one more fight with TR if I am correct? I thought his contract was only for 4 fights? I could be wrong though.

            Actually, that's the one that they didn't leak, they just came right out and said he was a front-runner. The other ones were rumours that I am certain they leaked. Hell, Matthew Hatton himself said he was definitely approached.

            It's a smart strategy, because everyone gets hysterical when the first name is put out. Even if they (Team Mayweather) are not actually doing this, they should because it is so easy to exploit the initial hysteria.

            • I think they would fight Khan for sure it is not like the option were all that great and Khan has an innate ability that makes people want to see him get beat up, so well known or not if people want to see a guy get beat up they will watch.

              Now Maidana has emerged a bit thus is more credible and hot at the moment so they could go in that direction now, but if that didn't happen they were almost surely going to fight Khan. I would call it 50/50 now and I wouldn't consider either fight all that challenging for him although both of them will probably be fairly entertaining.

Quit complaining about the obvious...we know that he wants the biggest $$$ possible so that narrows the pickings down...Showtime can't put on Floyd vs (insert fighter name) with no serious fan base or a gimmick to help promote that fighter. Triangle theories don't work in fights but for the casuals that push the ppv's, it does! Canelo beats Trout, Lara beats Trout but Floyd beat the most popular one easy so selling Lara would be tough. I would love to see Floyd fight whoever (140-154) but I understand that companies want huge $$$ so a guy that could bring in 200mil trumps a guy who possibly brings in 80-90mil.

                Floyd is gonna fight khan first because khan is so vulnerable that if floyd tries too save the khan fight for september, khan may lose by then. maidana will wait til september. thats floyd schedule for 2014. I would rather see garcia vs mayweather on 1 of those dates though.

                    Alexander was the only one that Mayweather or his team talked about being a possibility.

                    The others were nothing but sheer rumours. The same as me writing an article and saying "Mayweather and Roy Jones in talks for 163lb catchweight" and saying "Sources say" in it and it getting a lot of hits and people think it's legitimate.

                    How likely is it that GBP approached Hatton? It's less than 1%. Hatton likely heard the ridiculous rumours and jumped on it to make some noise around his name.

                    None of those guys were ever leaked by Mayweather or his team. Nothing but baseless rumours.
