That is not what I'm saying. Floyd has a contract to fight about 6 fights on Showtime. So what was the rush to fight Canelo in 2013? It could have easily happened next year IF Canelo beat some worthy opponents and improved by fixing his weaknesses or at least improving.

Floyd didn't want to wait until Canelo gets destroyed by a C level fighter and hype dies.

That's it .... my take on it was that Canelo was not ready for Floyd. If he took on a few awkward/slicker/counter punchers and showed that he is able to cut the ring while improving on his weaknesses then my opinion would more than likely have changed BUT not the version that I saw. Still his flat-foot nature made it hard for him.

I saw from the Trout fight that Canelo thought he was going to come in with his boxing wizardry and out-box Floyd. Big mistake but that was expected due to his inexperience. Trout fights tall and on the outside. Once you can get passed that, he can be beat because he doesn't move like Floyd nor has the speed like Floyd.

What makes you think that he wouldn't have these exact flaws had Floyd fought him a year later?

Like I said in the other post, he may definitely have some as not all are easy to fix such as him fighting flat-footed.

Still, he would have gained experience. For example, if he would have fought and beat Lara then that would have been valuable experience. Just like I'm sure that his fight with Floyd is a great experience and now he knows that he can't outbox everyone like he thought he could and will have to change it up if he hopes to win against all comers.

Thats funny how Mayweather fans agree with his haters that Floyd is cherry picking, safety first fighter who avoids real challenges.
The only difference is that Mayweather haters think it's a bad thing and his fans think it's a good thing.

I honestly say that I didn't even want to see the replay of the Guerrero or Canelo fights, it was boring and yes Mayweather won but let's not forget this is the same guy that throws 10 punches a round and lands 3 and it's considered dominating.

In the future people will read about how great Mayweather only to see countless boring decisions he's won. I used to hate on Roy Jones when he was undefeated and went on a tear KO'ing his opponents not throwing 10 punches a round.

Manny vs Marquez have a rivalry so its NOT the same but for the record, fight #3 I questioned at least until I saw Marquez at the weigh in and some videos of him training. Before then I said Manny should not take on Marquez at WW. Once I saw Marquez come in what appeared to be bigger than Manny, I knew that it was going to be better than expected being that Marquez always fights Manny tough. So unlike what you think, I criticize Manny fights too. i did the same on the Mosley fight.

Mosley didn't duck Floyd. Mosley had just fought for the 2nd time that year and said that he need his planned vacation, he would prefer to fight Floyd a few months later .... Floyd said NO to the delay! From late 2006 to 2010 Mosley was the one pursuing the fight. How can you be a ducker when you do that? Unfortunate, Floyd said "No" to Mosley fight which proved that he never was really interested in that fight. Risk was too high for his liking.


Imagine, Floyd said he was planning on retiring. Would you have wanted Baldomir or Mosley on your resume after you retire? Be honest!

Marquez-Pacquiao IV : A rivalry that had 3 close fights is now considered a cherry pick to you? #3 even proved that Marquez had adjusted well to the wieght and we all know that he fights Manny tough as nails and some of you though that Marquez won #3 ..... too funny!
