Well if he is going to keep fighting JWW and old men like Nacho say, why bother? Now if he really going to step up then I could see him headline his PPV, what I see from now on is GBP matching him very careful avoiding real threats and punchers, there are a lot of suckers that believe in him so why risk it...

Should he headline his own card from now on?
Poll above.
Discussion below.
Canelo should do his own thing. He doesn't need Floyd, he has Mexico.

He resonates with Mexican fans which is a huge boxing audience and he will with the casual fan because of his look and style. The only thing he needs to do is get better with his English, and he will have no problem drawing. Especially if he starts fighting on the 2 Mexican holidays which in sure he will.

Prior to Mayweather/De la Hoya, very few PPV events sold more than 1 million PPVs and almost all of them involved fights featuring Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield. Prior to Mayweather, De La Hoya only had two fights that sold more than 1 million PPVs - Trinidad and Hopkins. And to this day, I am still convinced that Pacquaio has only been involved in three fights that sold more than 1 million PPVs -- Cotto, De La Hoya and Margarito.
If Mayweather fights Amir Khan or Danny Garcia and it only sells 800,000 or 900,000 on PPV, it will still be a huge success because no other event, inlcluding every Pacquiao fight since Margarito, has sold this amount of PPVs unless it involved Mayweather. This amount will be more than enough to pay all the expenses and allow Mayweather and the other fighter to to make a good amount of money. It won't be as much Mayweather made against Alvarez, but I am sure he will be glad to settle for $40 to $50 million instead of the $80 to $100 million he is going to make against Alvarez.
The numbers they were doing in that era were like drawin 1 mil plus now. Floyd didnt have a fight that drew a huge number until he fought DeLaHoya, and Oscar was the main reason for that. Floyd has shown that if he doesn't have a named opponent his numbers suffer.
In today's world 1mil buys is the standard for a superstar, and Oscar and Tyson would have no problem drawing those numbers with the advantages of today's media.

Your 2nd paragraph looks good. Those are the reasons why he's the 3rd biggest star in boxing at such a young age. The sky is the limit for him. He won't fight on the Mexican holiday until Floyd retires though.
As far as Floyd goes, I believe 800,000 against the Ghost is a success. He didn't help with the promotion at all and no one knows Guerrero. If anything, he proved that he was a huge draw.
