Social media and the television shows are good points but it also should be noted that there wasn't any streaming (or very little) when Tyson and De la Hoya were at their peaks. That pretty much evens things out. De la Hoya's biggest PPV was in the social media age and it was against Floyd. De la Hoya was very influential in Floyd's PPV success but it was Floyd's antics on 24/7 that took their fight to new levels. That's why DLH has never been close to 2 million at any other time.
Floyd has shown that if he doesn't have a name opponent his numbers suffer? Like when he got over a million fighting Ortiz? His only PPV's under a million since the DLH fight were Hatton and Guerrero.
Tyson>DLH>Floyd>Manny. All of them are superstars.
