Canelo/Cotto or Canelo/Martinez would be lucky to do 600,000 PPVs. Richard Schafer woudn't be ****** enough to put Canelo/Molina on PPV because he knows that fight wouldn't break 100,000 mark in PPVs. I think you and others are give Alvarez waaaay too much credit and have a rose-colored view of PPV numbers. If the real numbers were release, I would bet that Pacquaio/Bradley didn't sell 600,000 ppvs and Pac/Marquez IV didn't break the 700,000 mark. 600,000 people are not going to plop down $50 to $60 to see a fighter (Alvarez) who was fighting on Showtime two fights ago fight a guy that no one outside of hardcore fans have ever heard of (Molina).
Should Canelo fight on Floyd's undercard in the future?

After THAT performance... Any PPV that they plan putting this kid on as a CO-headliner is going to TANK. Unless the opponent is Cotto or Martinez.Comment

I think you and others have a distorted view of what constitutes a successful PPV event. You think if a Mayweather fight doesn't break 1 million PPVs, it is a failure. That is wrong. Prior to Mayweather/De la Hoya, very few PPV events sold more than 1 million PPVs and almost all of them involved fights featuring Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield. Prior to Mayweather, De La Hoya only had two fights that sold more than 1 million PPVs - Trinidad and Hopkins. And to this day, I am still convinced that Pacquaio has only been involved in three fights that sold more than 1 million PPVs -- Cotto, De La Hoya and Margarito.
If Mayweather fights Amir Khan or Danny Garcia and it only sells 800,000 or 900,000 on PPV, it will still be a huge success because no other event, inlcluding every Pacquiao fight since Margarito, has sold this amount of PPVs unless it involved Mayweather. This amount will be more than enough to pay all the expenses and allow Mayweather and the other fighter to to make a good amount of money. It won't be as much Mayweather made against Alvarez, but I am sure he will be glad to settle for $40 to $50 million instead of the $80 to $100 million he is going to make against Alvarez.Comment
