It's not about making it a brawl, it's about seeing where the weakness are and taking advantage of them.

If you play to another man's strengths, he will capitalize on the opportunity and not think twice about it. This is precisely what Canelo did. I'm not saying taking Floyd out of his game would be easy but it is the only way to stand a chance, not trying to outbox him....it ain't gonna happen.
Taking Floyd out of game tires them more than it tires him , he stayed in the pocket with Cotto because he said he would , he wanted to be the tough guy , Floyd Snr snapped him out of that sht , and said be Floyd you don't have to come down to there level to show your tough .

When Floyd does Floyd , you aint going to pressure him if he wants move , its cat and mouse and he don't tire at the same rate you do , that can only go to one place or you better hope you get lucky .

I agree with what your saying as a whole , just not the angle your coming from , should have been the apparent game plan for sure , Im just saying Floyd has a big say in what the opponent can or cant do , I feel you think its easy to pressure him .

The first time I watched that fight I was like damm Pacquiao is killing Bradley but this video shows exactly what went down. Same thing with Pac-Marquez, most punches don't make contact or they were blocked but they count them as landed puches and thats why Pac always got the decision against Marquez.

I know but he should have done the opposite of what he is saying to Canelo lol

Wow!! I don't know about all that...

I think you meant to say Gatti not Canelo. So I'm guessing you think he annihilated De La Hoya too right? lol

Therein lays why the kid looked bad. Cotto pressured Floyd and made Floyd have to leave himself a bit more open in the middle of the ring to win the rounds. Canelo wanted to fight in the middle of the ring the whole time. If someone is faster than you beating up the body slows them down some..The brute advantage he has is nulled in the center of the ring. He can't use his weight to tire the other man out in the center of the ring. He may have boxed decently but he messed up by not using his advantages when he had them. It was truly frustrating to see him back off Mayweather when he had him on the ropes because anyone giving him a chance knew if it came it would happen on the ropes. Mayweather is not a fighter you want fresh all 12 rounds..he boxed brilliantly and beat up his opponent because his opponent allowed him to. Will we see a rematch? Possibly, but the young man needs some new trainers and a full time S&C coach.
              Perfectly stated.

Canelo tried to out-Floyd Floyd. That was a fatal (for his chances of a win) mistake. Honestly, I don't even know why Floyd should give Canelo a rematch... I don't think anything will be different next time around.

Canelo was scared of Floyd. You could tell by his body language and by all the BS he was saying pre-fight. He was not confident in his ability to win, and that translated into him being uncommitted in the ring and hanging back, which is the opposite of what he needed to do.

You could tell Garcia was afraid of Matthysse as well, but as DG started to land more and more hits, he got more confident and was less afraid of getting hurt by Lucas.

That turning point never happened with Canelo because he never did what he needed to in the ring. He played Floyd's game all night. And he took an assbeating for it.

The funniest thing is when Canelo tries head movement and gets hit over and over lmao

Just logged on, saw this thread and noticed it's 6 pages long. Just wondering if cupo already posted here to justify the fighting style canelo used against floyd.
