Garcia vs Matthysse Rematch?

I give props to Garcia for being better than what I thought of him. But saying that if it wasn't for that bull**** knockdown Matthysse would have won the fight.

Garcia has got to be the luckiest boxers in history. First Matthyse's eye closes then he continually lowblowed him through the fight and only gets one point taken away from him. The ref gives him a breather when Matthysse put his mouthpiece on P diddys lap and to top it off he gets a bull**** knockdown which gave him the 2 points he needed to win.

A rematch is a must.

it was a good fight but he lost decisively, he'll need to earn the rematch. Garcia boxed very very well - just ****ing suck it up and give him his props guys he keeps on winning! He'll be a live opponent for floyd though obv that's where his streak will end.

earn it, dog. i don't mind if he gets one down the line, but matthysse's performance did not neccessitate an immediate remtach.

he didn't do well. i'll put together a better scorecard when i'm not several rows back, but matthysse landed very few clean punches to my eyes. the fight really wasn't all that competitive, certainly not to the level that it deserves an immediate rematch.

if it wasn't lucas matthysse, would people be calling for it? would they want a rematch right awat for danny if the roles were reversed? i doubt it. they'd be saying that matthysse is gonna knock out floyd mayweather, rofl

And Garcia fought a better, more tested opponent than Floyd had in front of him tonight and outboxed him. Floyd did good but i think lost or at the most earned a draw/1-2 point victory. It wasn't the schooling the media make it out to be. Floyd ma homie n all but ***** needs to get back to fighting the likes of Guerrero. ya hear me?

Matthysse lost, and it was inarguable, but Matthysse was outboxing him before his eye swelled... I only gave Garcia 1 round before the eye, and after the eye, when Garcia started taking over, I found 1 round to give to Matthysse (would have been 2, had that knockdown debacle not taken place)

In your opinion, it wasn't close, but 2 out of 3 judges agree with me, so at least I'm not alone

I taped it and rewatched it and i had Garcia up 4-2 after 6, could make a case for 3-3 as the first was close but I thought Danny edged it.

I would be all in favor for a rematch. It was a very intriguing bout in which I believe warrants a rematch. However, I don't think that Team Garcia would want to fight Lucas Matthysse again because they are looking forward to bigger and better things; Like vacating the 140 lbs title, to move up and challenge Floyd Mayweather, Jr at the 147 lbs weight division for more money.

Matthysse fans in pure damage control at the moment. But I suppose you need something to grasp onto when an entire years worth of outlandish boasts and predictions come crashing down and end up making you look a little bit silly.




Note in future: try not to become so enamoured with how badass and powerful a boxer looks that it clouds any reasonable, rationale thinking.
