Canelo won his paper title at 154 against a welterweight. Three of his title defenses at 154 were against......you guessed it... welterweights.

If he want to fight welterweights go down in weight. If he want to be a real 154 pound fighter you had chances to fight Kirkland, Molina, Lara and Angulo.

This doesnt make canelos team any smarter. Because even if floyd suggested the catchweight(which he didnt, canelos said he would be willing to drop to 150 to fight floyd. He said it johnny gonzalez on this very site on 11/29/11) then why did they accept? But canelo has maintained that the weight will not be an issue. But it will be brought shpuld he lose.
