It doesn't matter!!! Canelo agreed to it and that's that. It takes two to make a fight happen! The fact that they're stepping in the ring together should be enough for real boxing fans to be appreciative. Floyd could've ducked him forever if he wanted.

It really doesn't matter who suggested the catchweight. No matter how Canelo spins the situation, it's his own fault for accepting a term that's to his disadvantage and to Floyd's advantage.

Canelo accepted so that's that. Floyd is the highest paid athlete in the world and p4p top fighter in all of boxing, of course opponents are going to have to make sacrifices. Some more than others. Is it fair? no, but that's the reality here. Mayweather was subject to that himself against De La Hoya. If Canelo wants the top spot he's gonna have to get it in side the squared circle, no excuses.

All I know is, I refuse to believe that the 2 pounds catchweight (esp when he came in at 153 for Trout and 151 for Hatton) is a bigger disadvantage for Canelo then the 15-20 pounds Canelo is going to gain on the actual fight is going to be a disadvantage for Mayweather. Not as a Mayweather fan, but as a human being, that logic just does not make sense to a normal person like me.
