Can you really blame Floyd for being a ducker?

I think floyd gets unfairly criticized for 96-2006 opponents,,
guys like prince, cotto, hatton were not going to fight a mayweather because he was a huge threat, and may didnt bring the $$$$$ back then,, guys like oscar, tito, roy, morales, mab, shane, vargas, those were the cash cows back then..

But since the oscar fight, floyd has been the top draw and cash cow, and could make any fight he wanted to, and he shared the same mantle as ali, srl, and oscar as their generations top draws and the face of boxing,,
Now look at their resumes when they were the cash cows and compare to floyd's since 2007,, Floyd's resume as the cash cow is very weak compared to guys in history that held the spot he has,,,

Yes its true that floyds opponents for anyone else would be a great list, but not for the guy that is p4p #1 of his generation and the biggest draw of the sport,, with credentials like that, floyd has an underwhelming resume, more in line with roy jones and tyson, than oscar, srl, ali

Not going to try and name all the fighters he has "ducked" since 2007 but we all know the names and i dont expect him to fight everyone under the sun, but he could have some better fights on his resume since 2007

Can't blame him. The Castillo fight shook him, and ever since he's taken the road to least resistance. His small fan club will hold his little jock strap no matter what, and he gets paid for it, so why not?

I understand what you are saying, but I don't know if this was a cold calculating plan simply to make money at the expense of legacy. I think Floyd has a real paranoid streak and he doesn't want to give those who dislike him the satisfaction of seeing him lose.

Technically, I think Floyd was right to retire rather than face Williams. I believe the biggest reach advantage anyone has had on Floyd is 1". Williams would have had a 7" reach advantage and a 7" height advantage. It's no good turning your shoulder up at someone who has the arm length to go around it. Floyd probably thought he could beat Martinez, Pacquiao, and Margarito but knew they were capable of upsets so avoided them.

A lot say he ducked Martinez, since Martinez said he'd be willing to go down to 154 to face Floyd, but Floyd just avoided it completely. That would have been a big fight a year or two ago, but not so much now since Sergio is on a decline. But this fight I can understand Floyd not wanting to do. It's a lose-lose for Floyd since if he even beat Sergio at 154, everyone would say it's only because Sergio was weight drained so I don't blame him on this one.
