So when exactly was his prime again? Between the Urkal and Gomez fights>?

I'd say Quintana to Gomez. You're saying he was prime after Margo? Really?

Lmbo! I think you're underestimating just how important the mental component of boxing is.

Cotto relied on heavy hands, good hand speed, solid combinations, underrated timing and a consistent body attack.

Now imagine running into another fighter, capable of making your weight class, that is capable of disregarding everything you've taken pride in as he slowly walks you down round after round.

You're beaten, bowed, stopped and your undefeated record is snatched from you.

Most fighters NEVER recover from that. For it to happen to him when his skills seemed to be at their peak was even worse in a way.

As a fighter, in my opinion, Cotto's "prime" was ended by Margarito.

No I am not saying that at all. I was trying to get clarity from you.

If I understand correctly, Cotto was prime between December 06 to April 2008? A month before Cotto's first fight at 147lbs vs Quintana, Floyd fought the #1 147lber at the time, Carlos Baldomir. He ducked Cotto, who was barely entering 147 to fight the Universally recognized #1 147lber?? This "ducking" madness needs to stop.

When Cotto beat Mosley and Mayweather beat Hatton, that was THE fight to make in boxing. Mayweather vs Cotto for WW unification and The RING Title, when it meant something. And Floyd chose to retire.
