You forgot the names of the guys who ko'd Pac.
Torrecampo who ko'd him BEFORE he won a tite, Singsurat who ko'd Pac AFTER he won the title, and Marquez who fed Pac a counter right, and Pac got the itis and fell asleep.

    • Apples and bananas.

How can you compare these two when one fought 14 fights since 2006 and the other 9 fights? He retired when his division was brewing with excitement.

I agree. People, even to this day, still can't seem to grasp the whole 'styles make fights' thing. The fact that people still want to put that performance down to Morales being washed up - in spite of his performance in the second Pacquiao fight - is just silly. Raheem was the absolute worst sort of style for someone like Morales, and he clearly wasn't in the best shape for it, either.

Bad preparation + bad style matchup = a very bad result.

Morales was coming off being 130 champ in 2004 losing a FOTY to another great in MAB, beat manny in a war in 2005, also got schooled by a style nightmare Raheem, so it wasnt like morales was getting beaten up like cotto had been vs margs and manny,, cotto was struggling with one-leg yuri, shot mayorga, one-eye margs,,, Morales had alot more in the tank at the time than cotto did,,,

            2. Manny should have gotten the win in the first fight vs jmm and lost the 3rd, i think manny won the 2nd because of the kd, i had it 114-113, so i think manny should be 2-2 vs jmm

            3. Margs is way better than ghost,,,,, welter margs vs ghost who you think would win,,, margs would make that dude look like cintron,,,
Yes margs was 1-1 above 147 but the loss was a cut stoppage in a fight vs santos that margs was starting to come on late,,, it wasnt a clear loss like his other losses,,,,, and manny is a much smaller guy than margs,,,,

            4. I was just responding to the guy that made totally biased strawman argument about wins being greater when he left off alot of manny's and matched them up horrible,,, I like a good debate, but cant stand when its just total bias BS
            1. not saying he was but his performance indicated he was done. The point made about the 12th rd with manny before is valid.

            2. i can go with that.

            3. Margs may be better than GHost all time but Margs above 147 may not be bettr than ghost at 147, especially given how each fought. Margs was down big vs santos. he may have come back.

            4. ok

Again, Manny has excellent wins. I would argue he gets more for ledbawa because he was a handpicked sub and surprised. But when we talk about his fights with JMM, MAB, and EM you can't just say 6-2-1.

He did beat MAB 2x and he deserves all respect and credit. But the EM situation is different. There is just no way beating morales after he lost to raheem means as much.

In the case of JMM, he was favored 4 times and won 2x. You can't just credit the wins and not take points away for the draw and loss.

WIns and losses have to matter.

Thanks man,, Im glad someone understands that styles make fights,,,

thats why triangle theories never pan out,,, like taylor beats hopkins, pavlik stops taylor, hopkins beats the hell out of pavlik,,

or jones beats hopkins, tarver beats jones, hopkins beats tarver,,,

              Its all about the styles

That is why floyd looked so dominant vs jmm, while manny has trouble with jmm,,,,
Floyd had trouble with JLC, yet if JLC fought manny, manny may light him up like a christmas tree...

              Its all about styles

He vindicated every loss. He gave JMM 4 trys How many chances did Floyd give Oscar? Oh none he retired lmfao):WORD:. But at the end of the day. He fights better opposition than Floyd. Fights more fights than Floyd. As of now has earned more in PPV revenue than Floyd. Has more endorsements than Floyd. Congressman. More exciting to watch than Floyd (wanna compare fighter of the years awards?) Awarded fighter of the decade. Decade. lol No matter how you slice it. All roads lead to Manny Pacquiao. Even after his KO loss...the buzz of them two fighting STILL has interest.

Raheem was the absolute worst sort of style for someone like Morales, and he clearly wasn't in the best shape for it, either.

Bad preparation + bad style matchup = a very bad result.
bad preparation + loss to inferior hand picked tune up opponent=Morales was not as good as he once was.

Respectfully, You can't use the style matchup arguement because Morales picked Raheem to fight. He wasn't a mandatory or anything. Morales knew Raheem's style going in. He thought he could win. Maybe he got old overnight. Maybe that 12th rd did mess him up.

either way he got waxed and it was clear he wasn't the same guy.
