I think manny beat him up in a war in the 2nd fight, and that took alot out of morales, then the 3rd fight manny crushed him,,,
Then the diaz fight i think morales showed his age and looked good in spots but just didnt have the energy to fight 12 hard rounds,,,,

I actually think that what ruined morales is the 12th round of the first manny fight, when he was up on the scorecards and decided to turn southpaw and trade with manny. Manny almost put him out and morales was severely rocked in that final round,, yes it was super exciting but I think that took alot out of morales and he was never the same after that round,,,,

I think a guy like raheem would beat morales anytime, even a prime morales, styles make matchups and raheem was a very slick and underrated fighter, he would always give morales trouble,,

The same thing could apply to floyd and zab,,,, zab had lost a tune-up vs baldomir, but still fought mayweather tough, and its considered a good win for floyd,, and zab doesnt have a good record after that fight with losses to baldomir, floyd, clottey, cotto, khan, garcia,

I just think people are quick to discount the morales win for manny when in hindsight, but at the time it was a great win for manny, especially stopping morales who was thought of as the toughest dude around at the time,,,
      Weight defeated Morales not Pacquiao.

I dont think morales was so much different than the one that beat manny less than a year before,,, If raheem had power he would be a scary fighter and would probably be a HOFer,, I honestly think that dude is criminally underrated and got robbed vs juarez, freitas fight could have gone either way and he schooled morales.. I think raheem is probably the most underrated guy of the last decade..

        SUre is convienent.
There is def a double standard when it comes to floyd and manny,,, I just think manny is not the one saying bradley or jmm needs to sign with TR, that is totally arum, refusing the drug tests kinda lands on mannys lap though IMO

A lot of poster on NSB say Its not just who you fight/beat its when you fight/beat them. That has to be applied to everyone equally.
Like i said before, raheem is criminally underrated and dodged,, he should have 2 wins over juarez and morales, and could have gotten the nod vs frietas,, The kid was a very skilled figher but couldnt land name fighers because of his troubling style much like how miguel vasquez cant land any names even though he is considered the #1 lightweight champ

That may be true, but anyway you slice it, manny was the first to stop the mighty El Terrible

Remind me, what's JMM's 2nd best scalp? Where would it rate on Pac's resume?

Whether it was him saying it or not, he certainly knew about it and did nothing to stop it. Bob works for him,(supposedly), not the other way around.

Your absolutely right, he was the first to stop him, but it looks much less impressive with the added context. To me, this was Pac/Roach/Arum minipulation at it's finest(or worst). They already knew Morales had lost his last fight and was having alot of trouble making weight. Morales requested the fight at a higher weight.....Nope, DECLINED! Not even a catchweight, that Pac would come to love in the future. So not only was Morales not looking to be the same fighter, he would also be a severly drained fighter as well. Once would have been bad enough, but he fought him 2x this way and added in the hefty weight penalties to make sure Morales came in good and drained. then people have the nerve to mention Morales as one of his great wins??? Give me a f****** break!

Manny is a TR puppet, Arum calls the shots, remember he got manny to resign for a paltry 1 mil signing bonus, floyd or anyother top ppv guy would command alot more

Yes your right about the weight, especially in the 3rd fight,, I think the 2nd fight morales looked good but manny was just better and was boxing more than brawling,, brawling morales cost him the 1st fight vs eric, i think manny made adjustments and boxed more, and stopped morales,
I think its a good win, not a great win
The 3rd fight was a washed up morales and i dont consider that to be a great or good win, just a win,,,,,

To use diaz as a best win vs manny and not hatton, how about the lebedowa fight,
Margs is way better than ghost,
A prime MAB and JMM are better than anything on floyds resume,,,

You say healthy cotto, lol,, you mean shot cotto that had already been thru a dozen wars and gotten beaten down and stopped by margs and manny

Floyd does have great wins but so does manny, and manny has more of them,, remember he fought MAB, JMM, EM multiple times, actually 9 times and went 6-2-1, and the draw was BS,, manny should have won that fight

the 2 morales wins are not great. He was favored to beat JMM in all 4 fights and had a draw, a ko loss, and one win was voted robbery of the year.

Margs above 147 was 1-1 when manny fought him. Ghost was 2-0 at ww when floyd fought him. Hatton was KO'd by floyd and was moving back down in weight.

Again, does when they fought and at what weight factor or any other info go into this assessment or is it just name value?

Its probably impossible to make this totally subjective-but toyou say cotto is shot based on the manny/margs fights yet say Morales was a good win is hard.

                    1. Morales had never been beaten down and stopped like cotto had been,,,
Morales was coming off being 130 champ in 2004 losing a FOTY to another great in MAB, beat manny in a war in 2005, also got schooled by a style nightmare Raheem, so it wasnt like morales was getting beaten up like cotto had been vs margs and manny,, cotto was struggling with one-leg yuri, shot mayorga, one-eye margs,,, Morales had alot more in the tank at the time than cotto did,,,

                    2. Manny should have gotten the win in the first fight vs jmm and lost the 3rd, i think manny won the 2nd because of the kd, i had it 114-113, so i think manny should be 2-2 vs jmm

                    3. Margs is way better than ghost,,,,, welter margs vs ghost who you think would win,,, margs would make that dude look like cintron,,,
Yes margs was 1-1 above 147 but the loss was a cut stoppage in a fight vs santos that margs was starting to come on late,,, it wasnt a clear loss like his other losses,,,,, and manny is a much smaller guy than margs,,,,

                    4. I was just responding to the guy that made totally biased strawman argument about wins being greater when he left off alot of manny's and matched them up horrible,,, I like a good debate, but cant stand when its just total bias BS
