Murray would have had a good chance of beating Quillin, espcially with home advantage,.

A Barker-Murray WBO/IBF unification fight would then be a huge fight in the UK. The winner of that could then have moved up and fought Froch in an even bigger domestic fight.

Murray is hoping on landing that Barker fight but he has to wait until Sturm fights Barker. then maybe he will have to go to Germany and fight sturm and the judges. Kid Choco needs an opponent but they are offering peanuts to fighters. They should just wait and have him fight Jacobs at the Barclays

I'm pretty sure Geale has a rematch clause with Barker. Murray will probably have to wait for Barker to fight Sturm, then Geale.

I'm not even sure Barker's promoter Eddie Hearn will do business with Murray's promoter Hatton now that Hatton has signed with Frank Warren's BoxNation channel.

Point is Murray is no better than Stevens, and Stevens is giving excitement with his style. Point is it's a duck by Murray, and an awesome oppurtunity for Murray whom was/is having visa problems to fight in the US.
He's not proven to suck, as is the case with Stevens. no bad losses on Murray's ledger, and he did really well against The Champ and high rated Sturm. Stevens never did well vs anyone top 15.

He's not proven to suck? I would love to see what Murray would of done vs Martinez before he fought Chavez. Most say Murray fought Martinez @ the right time. And it had to do with Martinez coming of injuries/surgery and having a hard fight vs Chavez Jr. That made Murray look world class/elite Even though Martinez was dominating Chavez, it was a grueling hard fight. Sturm, isn't all that, yes he held a share of the middle title for years, but refused to fight the Us fighters' Bhop, Jtaylor, Pavlik, & the Armenian/German Abraham, he also refused to fight Miranda the other cream of the crop middle weights @ the time. Yes he could of fought Bhop after Bhop beat Oscar, and that's Sturm only claim to fame is being robbed vs a fat out of shape Oscar, and Oscar stilled held his own. Sturm also has turned down fights vs GGG before he fought Murray. GGG agreed to fight Sturm in his own backyard. Sturm isn't all that, just happened to grab a title and held it hostage for years. Loses can be deceiving, yes Steven has loses as well as Rosado, but both are better than now than they were than. I use them as examples becasue they both revamped their careers. Rosado had loses early in his career vs Fernando G whom just got KO by Quillin and Angulo, whom hasn't looked since before the Kirkland fight. Now Rosado looks and career is in better positions to those guys. Stevens has loses vs Andre Dirrell and Jesse Brinkely whom he fought @ super middle and another @ light heavy all natrually bigger guys. Now look @ Stevens and those fighters careers. Stevens career @ the moment is much better than those guys.

Actually Brinkley is a blown up middle. Remember he was an also ran on the Contender MW, lost to Mora. And Primera is a blown up welter and a bum. If you discount Murray due to Martinez' shape, what do you say about a guy in the middle of a 1-17 run?

I don't think he's a blown up middle. He had trouble making the weight in the show.

If not a clause, i think Shaw has a couple of options on him.
Both men were looking to defend against the mandatory though.

If this is true.... a title shot in your hometown seems like a good deal for 250k.

and murray has his own promoter so it should be a co-promotion...in that case gbp will take care of quillin's purse and hatton promotions will take care of murray's.
250 K State-side may be a tad low for Murray but 250 k in UK is a slap in the face. Murray should get around 550k-600 k in UK with TV $.

How about Kid Chocalate offers Andy Lee 300 k and we will have a new MW champ.

A good majority of his fights were at middle or below. He sure was not a natural SMW like Ward or Bute or Froch etc. Abraham also had a really hard time making 160, but he's not SMW
