He hides in a turtle shell and throws the occasional 1-2 when he sees an opening, he also has decent stamina.

The Martinez criticisms were ridiculous because he was taking on a top 10 contender while coming off a hand injury and knee surgery.
Nahh the criticisms were more than legit and to be frank, Murray is nowhere near as good as ppl are making him out to be. I'm more than confident quillin will beat him and I don't even like quillin. Golovkin would destroy him. Martinez lost to him but that's because Martinez is ckmpromised as a boxer by this time

      Or good business sense.

Golden Boy pulls this kind of thing all the time. They offer a lump sm figure to another promoter's fighter to essentially use him as an opponen for one night, on their terms. When a fighter refuses, they go around talking **** about how the dude's a ducker and should have taken their awesome deal.

They did it to Bradley saying he forfeited something like 2 million dollars fighting Amir Khan. Bradley "ducked" Khan and went n to challenge Manny Pacquiao. They did the same thing earlier with Donaire by offering him 3 million to fight Mares... but again, on their terms and with who knows what other stipulations. Donaire "ducked" Mares to instead take on one of the greatest athletic boxing talents in recent years and a legendary boxer in the amatuers, Guillermo Rigondeaux.

Simply put we don't know all the details of what GBP offered Murray, only that their offer was rejected and that they're unhappy about it.

Damn, I'd take that fight if I was Murray. It's not beyond him and you've got to look at the leverage he'd get if he won and went into a Barker fight as an all British unification.

Sounds like it's out of his hands though, with Schaefer calling Hatton CEO Richard Poxon a ****ing moron (which is hilarious).

        Waiting game 'till Barker/Sturm happens.

I hear you, but Murray has not accomplisehd what Bradley has, and when they did that to Bradley you say, Bradley was considered by most the guy @ 140 with some claiming Khan was the man. Plus Bradley had accomplished more @ that point of his career compared to Murray's. This situation apllies to Donaire. Point is both bradley and donaire where on the p4p list, bradley still and considerd the #1 or #2 guys in their divisions. Murray is known of that/this i have stated above. Nor is he in a position to really turn down or dictate considering Kid Choc is the champ. Also Bradley and Donaire earned the right @ the time to negotiate and dictate terms. Not Murray!!

well it looks like it's moving towards a man do defense against Sturm... I dont think a mando has fought for the belt in a while (unless barker was the mando).
If they do go the mando route like they're saying, I dont know why Murray wouldn't take this generous offer

Who the fuck is Martin Murray to turn down 250 K to fight for the title in the UK? If Maravilla or GGG said no to to an offer like this, you can guarantee they would be getting called "ducks". For some reason with Murray though, it's okay becasue he's worth more. I just find that hilarious.

No, the criticisms were unfounded because as I said Martinez was coming off knee surgery and a hand injury so there was no telling whether Sergio would get re-injured. And guess what? He got re-injured and now requires further surgery on his knee. Martin Murray was an undefeated top 10 contender coming off an arguable win over Felix Sturm so props to Martinez for not taking an easier tune-up fight knowing his knee could give out.

Further Sergio did not lose that fight last I recall he fought to a UD on the three judges scorecards. Sergio swept the first four rounds with Murray hiding in a turtle shell. Rounds 5-10 were more competitive with Sergio clearly winning the 7th and rounds 5 and 9 being toss up rounds, Murray won rounds 6 and 8, 10 pretty clearly including a trip knockdown (stepped on Sergio's foot) and a disallowed KD after hitting Sergio behind the head. Murray shelled up again in the last two rounds and held on for dear life in the twelfth after getting hurt a couple times. I could see this fight being scored from 116-111 to 114-113 depending on how you score rounds 5 and 9. All this has been discussed before and most people on this site thought Sergio had won the fight.

I see your point (although Martinez is worth more than 250k). We should wait for the other side of the story though, Hatton Promotions have been quiet thus far.
