I think they should've accepted the offer. You're at home and the money is decent.

If they had decided to try and negotiate then fair enough. Pushing for better terms is usually a reasonable thing to do. But it seems like they just turned it down and moved on from the situation.

Reading between the lines, it sounds as if that is what happened and Schaefer was having none of it.

we all know, in GB fights, they have it in their contracts with the USADA or which ever drug testing agency that if their guy tests positive, the drug testing agency are by contract are only allowed to tell GB, nobody else! this is how several GB fights took drugs like berto and peterson and got away with it because GB made a weak excuse and the commission could do nothing about it as they did not do the drug test

vada stepped up to gb and they reported it to the commission, they did it with peterson, gb, as corrupt as they are, were furious, so unless they signed the same contact these other agencies do and report to them, they have banned them from fights and are bad mouthing their name by trying to make them go bankrupt

GB blame everyone apart from themselves, everytime, that richard guy is a prick, plain and simple, he hides drug cheats if its GB fighters, we all know of the rumors of floyd failing a test, pac heard it too, so when he demanded his test results in court, floyd settled the case out of court and dropped everything lol

murray did the right thing, unless GB agreed to neutral drug testing agency, he would not take the fight
        Where did you hear that?

I guess fighting for a belt and having hometown advantage would add to the incentive, but $250,000 still seems kind of weak.
its pretty good considering he gets all that and chocolate doesn't make that much.... Seems fair to me... Unless chocolate was making a million or something

He should have taken it. I'm sure he won't be getting anywhere near that for his next fight and it's for a belt at home

Why the **** would u turn down that much for a title fight in your home town, if that's true then his team are idiots. It's every boxers dream to fight for a world title and most would accept a fraction of that sum just for the opportunity I'm sure. Barrera & Morales fought life and death in their first fight one of the best ever seen for less than 100k each, puts a bit of perspective on things.

Man they'd be making pictures, threads and claims of ducking if it was their fighter that was in place of Quillen. Do you not remember the GGG-Stevens posts that ran rampant on here?

It doesn't sound like that good an offer but it does give Murray a chance to win a world title with the home country advantage. If the ref and the judges are English that can be a very big advantage in a close fight.

Schaefer didn't even say they turned it down. It appears to have been a 'take it or leave it' offer without making it clear.

So when Stevens was affer 300k & he seem to turn it down you all cried that he didn't even deserved that much yet he's been KO people lately, now that a euro bum gets offer 50k less & a fight at his home town you all claim is not enough yet he is coming off a lost to SM. I sometimes wish....... NVM I'll save my breath
Winky Wright said USADA stopped testing after the first set of tests with no explanation why, and he suspected it was because Quillen was dirty. Even Quillen to this day says he doesn't know why they stopped testing.
