GB's offer for Murray to fight Quillin was $250k

    http://espn.go.com/blog/dan-rafael/p...-falls-through
“If he had other ways the fighter can make more money or do this or that, I get that. But we offered him $250,000 for Murray to fight Peter Quillin, and Quillin was willing to go to the U.K. in November or December.
I guess fighting for a belt and having hometown advantage would add to the incentive, but $250,000 still seems kind of weak.

Why? Murray´s not the champion or a draw, and was conceded the advantage of fighting at home.He can´t get all picky and demand all the chips, only those at the top can afford that.

Why would anyone turn down a title shot in their own hometown? Who else is Murray gonna fight? Besides, I think he has a very good chance of boxing to a UD, especially in Britain.

I wonder if these guys are turning down quillen because he quit USADA testing during the winky wright fight.

We have gotten no explanation about that from anyone including quillen, GBP,and USADA.

And I find it funny GBP blames everyone but themselves for not being able to land him a good fight.

yeah i don't think murray's team would agree to that amount. there's money to make in UK if the fight is to be held there.

and murray has his own promoter so it should be a co-promotion...in that case gbp will take care of quillin's purse and hatton promotions will take care of murray's.

Hometown and title shot seems cool to me. If money problem then HP pony up what Murray wants and take fight at home with a big fight co-promo.
