You are seriously underrating Froch. Also Kessler may have been clearly beaten by Calzaghe but he put up a good show against a great fighter and that stands for something when measuring a fighters abilities.

calzaghe was a big favorite over hopkins, it was joes best w in my opinion but it's a steep drop off after. Castillo and Corrales are so much better/more accomplished than kessler it's crazy
Well, he really only ducked him after the Joe fight. That fight was way richer than a Hopkins-Dawson ever was and Hopkins is openly a business man first and a boxer second.

Pascal is a strong dude. He dropped him too and could've perhaps earned a win the first time around. At least I think so.

More accomplished? In what sense? I don't think they are, and it took Floyd two tries to beat Castillo. Many, incl myself, thought he lost the first fight. Kessler was a long time champion in his prime.

Yes, and that fake WBC belt he picked up, who cares? Do you know who Mayorga fought to win that belt? lol

we have to go like for like ages to validate your comparison as much as possible.

This is all academic to the actual point - that Floyd waiting for 2 ATGS to age to their forties definitely looks bad for him, but Calzaghe fighting 2 aged legends somehow makes him look better.

I dont get the double standard. Is it because Calzaghe had acheieved such a small amount that to beat these two aged atgs is a relative big feat for him. Or is it because Floyd is black?
Lol pulling the race card. Typical moron.

DLH was at 160 for that. He moved back down to 154 where he was most comfortable.

Even then, losing to Prime Sturm at your worst weight is better than getting KTFO by Glen pillowhands Johnson.

I'd say Calzaghe's top 2 wins are definitely better than Mayweather's top two wins.

B.Hop., prime/undefeated Kessler > shot DLH, 'Chico' Corrales

He moved up from 168 to 175 for the first time, traveled to Hopkins' backyard and beat him at a time when B.Hop was #4 P4P and the lineal Light heavyweight champion.

Is pillowhands what we call a fighter with a 70% KO ratio nowadays?

A lot have scored it for Mayweather too. So.... and look who Castillo beat to win the title. Who did Kessler beat? I don't give a hell about ranking, who was the fighters he beat for the belt

I voted Mayweather not necessarily because of his quality of signature wins (although I count the Corrales, Hatton, and Castillo rematch wins very highly in his favor) but because of the level of visibility and pressure that has fallen upon every single one of his fights in recent years. It takes a special individual to step up against opponents who are trying to keep you from earning tens of millions of dollars a night. There's an unbelievable amount of pressure for Floyd to keep winning and succeeding, a pressure that was certainly on Calzaghe too but to nowhere near such a degree.

There's also the fact that Floyd's career is not yet over. I think his accomplishments in the sport already stand over Calzaghe's, and with his Showtime deal we can expect him to add 5 more names to his record (starting with Alvarez if he comes through on Sep. 14th). Calzaghe retired at the top of his game, but Floyd is at the top of the sport and still pushing it.
