Absolutely. I know it. The difference is, alot of people bring up God when in front of the camera, only the person other than God himself knows for sure, but I am willing to bet most of that is just theatrics.

Hopefully no one wastes their time replying to my post, discussing religion is near impossible face to face, let alone on a boxing forum full of trolls, this thread is actually a huge baitfest probably, people don't respect other peoples opinions or beliefs anymore.

I can't agree there. Maybe some people might use it as a crutch but some people find fulfillment in learning the Word of God. I know people who were hopeless alcoholics who relied solely on God to become sober. This is after they lost homes, jobs, families, friends.......you would have thought they would have found a way to sobriety after losing the home, huh? I've heard people swear they found spiritual stability through God and gained self-respect and learned to appreciate themselves. That kind of stuff is more than a crutch, that was a cure for their illness....they don't sell that in any little bottle, no doctor can prescribe that.

I understand what your saying ,all Im saying is if you believe in yourself as much as you can believe, then you don't need a God or a story just real belief , the power is in your head , many cultures don't believe in Jesus and God , they have their own God that is the king of their belief system ,,,,religion of any kind is really just brainwashing when you think about it .

I agree that "the power" may come from within one's self but the ability to channel that power is easier with a belief system. I see what you are saying about believing in oneself, and I agree that it is essential. I am thinking about when a person starts to doubt one's own ability to succeed due to a dangerous situation or circumstance they are currently facing. When that self, inner-belief waivers, there is nothing else....except doubt and fear.

If a person had a little something extra to believe in, it could be enough to help them "trudge" through it to the end instead of giving up.

I feel people can believe in what they wish because almost all forms of religion came from the same source at one point.....so many different geographical locations around the world, yet so many similar stories in each religion. I think the point is to believe in something I guess, whether it be yourself or a "higher power"
