Tim knew he got battered in that fight and wanted no part of a rematch, even for a much larger piece of the pie. Marquez seems like a more winnable, high profile fight, so he took it.

Since when has Pacquiao been a fighter who avoids tough fights? He never had to face JM again if he didn't want to. Manny was the money maker, not Marquez. He would have made about the same whomever he fought that wasn't named Mayweather. He chose to take the fight to set the score straight once and for all, he said it numerous times.
I know manny's 1st choice was the cotto cw because manny's team said so. I know the tim fight wasn't be pursued for that reason becuse Bob said 1 day after the fight he was being told sales ******. I know what manny said about a potetial JMM fight while pursuing the cotto fight.

Tough fights for manny are not the ones where bigger slower guys are gonna stand right in front of him. The tough fights for manny, whether he wins or loses are the fights where he has to adjust to movement and cut off the ring.

I agree he didn't have to face JMM again. HE WASN"T PLANNING TO UNTIL BOB MADE IT CLEAR TO HIM THAT WAS THE OPTION THAT PAID THE MOST, WHICH IS WHAT I JUST POSTED. You may think he was gonna make same money but that doesn't mean you are correct, especially given what Bob said about a potential Tim rematch.

He may have said that after the fact, but its like you are ignoring what he said previously when he thought he had other options.

      All this doesn't matter anyway.

The score is 2-1-1 to Pacquaio, so if the 4th was the last fight Pacquaio wins this imaginary competition regardless.

      End of.

Thanks for making that perfectly clear.
It may not have ended the rivalry but it was the most definitive win of the 4 fights.

True, I do recall him saying the Hatton punch was lucky. I don't think it was, but it was a product of going to Hatton's body early that made that possible.

In that KO punch, Pac starts throwing from the hip, Ricky thought it was going to be a body shot so he lowered his right arm, the punch went high and he never had time to get his glove in the way to take anything off the shot and paid dearly for it. Neither puch was lucky and I have no doubt about that.

I just think JMM is being a coward not wanting to fight Pacquiao again.

It's funny how his wife gave him permission to fight the lighter hitting, less tenacious Bradley but not Pacquiao again. It's a dangerous fight and any wife would be concerned. Especially how he was getting ****** up badly before the KO shot.

I caught what you said pretty clearly, but I fail to see where all this happened. You act like you are an insider or something. The info you are relaying is mostly presumptuous. I don't remember anything being said about the first option being a rematch with Cotto and I follow boxing as closely as anyone. It may have been AN OPTION, but certainly wasn't the first. I remember Pacquiao wanting the Bradley rematch right away and Bradley not wanting anything to do with it.

I agree that it was but Pacquiao is up on KD's and wins. Which would you rather have? The one decisive KO that happened in a fight that may not have even been warranted or happened at all or a 2-1-1 with 5 KD's overall against the rival?

Now, what I don't agree with is how for years, he begged, pleaded, talked trash, boozed and smoozed a way into several Pacquiao fights for more money than he had ever made before and now that he gets the finish he wanted, he all of the sudden washes his hands of Pacquiao. That's bull*hit and I think everyone here knows it.
Maybe because he feels that he beat Pacquiao 4 times, I agree with him.

I agree but this rivalry is nowhere near imaginary. This is as good as boxing gets. This is ALI-Frazier basically.

He avoided Mosley, Cotto at 154, Raheem, Holt etc.

Its a no brainer...the KO. If total knockdowns are so important to you...consider that JMM got up every time.

I dont understand "may not have been warranted or happened at all"...it happened and Manny got KTFO.
