I find it funny how people is hating on manny for feeling like this but Marquez went on and cried for many years that he won all 3 fights. How is this any different from what manny is doing now?

I'm not hating on Manny. In fact it's pretty natural to maintain his confidence by writing off what happened to him as lucky (for Marquez that is). Doesn't change the truth just makes it easier for him to deal with and get back in the ring (which I respect him for).

Pacquaio was also dominating the Marquez fight, check compubox and the score cards. Marquez did get a lucky break, because he was in trouble and losing.

Marquez was badly hurt and had a broken nose with blood flowing everywhere
Had that lucky punch never happened, Marquez probably would've quit on the stool or got knocked out in the first minute of the 7th round.

That the punch happened WHEN it did could be considered fortunate but his ABILITY to throw it can't. He did it over and over in that very fight. His intention pre-fight was to knock Pacquiao out and he fought in a way to carry that out.
You could essily say that Pacquiao was lucky to score that one KD in fight 2 because he was outboxed and out landed in that fight. It got him the split in a hard fight he could've lost. But his ability to land that punch wasn't down to luck.
Pac deserves credit for getting back in the ring but Marquez deserves full credit for4 knocking him out. I don't expect Pac to give to him but boxing fans should.

I can understand Manny saying this and feeling this way, but he didnt get hit with a no looker, it was a perfectly timed counter he was hit with when he was rushing in to finish the fight. Marquez did exactly what he should have done, and given the pressure he was under deserves massive respect for sticking to his task and not just trying to survive.
If Marquez got lucky, then its like Gary Player once famously said, "The harder I practice, the luckier I get".Last edited by junior gong; 08-05-2013, 07:53 AM.
