oscar was badly drained, and at the very end of his career. he got his face broken by goddamn stevie forbes, ffs.
    Word!

He got a fractured orbital bone by an uppercut. I knew he was completely done after that. Even a 50% DLH would have stomped on somebody like Forbes.

bc hes odlh and he's his own boss! so he can do what he wanted! he knew what he was getting himself into for crying out loud! i laugh at ppl who dont give pacq credit for beating the hell out of him! pacq was moving up in weight to do so. oscar felt he could do the same to get revenge against arum and pacq for contract issues! bottom line he got his butt whooped! same thing with cotto! cotto knew what he was doing! i mean what 2lbs?? if he felt it was a disadvantage or a problem, well then he wouldnt have fought! These are professionals we're talking about!

Why wouldnt you give credit to Manny for this win? It's not an elite level win by all means, but neither is Guerrero for Floyd. Manny went in and did the job, he shouldn't be criticised at all for this fight.

I do agree though, Prime Oscar beats Manny and Floyd quite easily Prime Oscar was a beast

If 26 year old Oscar was around at this present time...the 147-154 division would be in for some hurt.

I laugh at people like you that are fully aware that Oscar was severely weight drained and yet you want to give Manny credit for beating a man that was in POW type condition , nobody blames Manny for Oscars shape but you only beat what you beat and Oscar was an easybeat that night .

I could be wrong, but did he not drain himself more?
He was probably at 147 for a good while. When you come down like Dlh did, it should be a hit or miss thing. Of course you should make weight, but if you don't, you shouldn't be that far off. You should never be under. I'd rather come in a half a lb or a lb over the limit than be 145 for a week or two before fight time.

Guys who stay close to their fighting weight don't have to worry about that.

Oscar was trying to get back to the weight were he did his most damage,,,

trying to relive the past victories when he was at the lower weights when he was towering over leija, genara, ruelas, chavez,,, Oscar smoked those guys and i think that was the type of opponent he wanted,,,

Manny was a smaller guy, and oscar thought he could drop the weight and then beat down the smaller guy...
It just didnt go according to plan

Oscar made weight in a foolish way. He was under 147 for weeks before the fight instead of the standard way of drying out to lose the last few pounds a day or so before the fight and then rehydrating in the 32 hours between the weigh in and the fight. He had been so light for so long that he was unable to put any weight back on. His body had sort of shut down. If he had made the weight in the same way that he did when he was fighting as a welterweight for years I think he would have been fine and he would have come into the ring weighing at least 155 lbs.
