Oscar was deadman walking that night ANY top class WW would have beat him , even LW Steve Forbes would have beat him that night and Steve made him look bad at 150 in his previous fight , that was warning signs 147 was going to be trouble .

Oscar had not been at 147 for over 10 yrs , he weighed in at 145 and gained 2 lbs by fight night and need IV fluids to do it , Pac weighed more than him on the night , it was the worst case of a weight drained fighter I can ever remember an elite guy to be .

Not Mannys fault at all , but a no big win because of how badly Oscar fcked up .

He assume he would be lighter on his feet at 147, regarding him weighing 145 the next day that was because he couldn't rehydrate properly for whatever reason. The warning sign was there when a Steve Forbes was able to break his face at 150. This was a cherrypick gone wrong, wasn't he suppose to be fighting the Cotto-Margarito winner?

Yes, but Cotto losing threw the wrench in his plans. He had Cotto sought out to fight with. He didn't want to fight Margarito. Cotto lost, so he goes to Pac for "easy payday"

i heard oscar say that he wanted to use this fight to help him get ready to get to 140 lbs again. he had this crazy exit strategy, that involved ricky hatton's 140 lb lineage, before moving back up.

oscar was badly drained, and at the very end of his career. he got his face broken by goddamn stevie forbes, ffs.

But regardless had he done it the right way he was going to lose..nobody is denying that. And I don't even think Huey is mentioning sht about any other fight either.
Thats right! And BTW, that guy is a fucking dumbass.

Roach was told of the IV fluids before the fight and there is video of it floating around where when told Roachs says , it wont go 3 rounds .

Im not talking about the video where Roach said he trained Oscar and knows he cant pull the trigger , that was a mth before the fight .

He was fighting the #1 p4p fighter, who had just fought at lightweight

He probably didn't want to be too big cause if he won, which everyone was expecting, he didn't want the victory to be too watered down

He did it to himself, but doesn't make Pacquiao's victory any less insignificant

Floyd-Mosley was a legit fight. And sure Mosley was shot by the time that fight came around but he wasn't in as bad as shape as Oscar was for Pac.

Oscar-Pac was really Manny going up for a well-paid ass-whooping. No-one expected him to do anything. He was going make some good money and then come back and resume his proper boxing career after the fight.

And even though he gave an exceptional performance (seriously, he was at his absolutely peak in this fight, and fought with the kind of ring IQ he had never shown before), you cannot disregard that Oscar was a shrivelled prune.

My problem with how this fight is viewed nowadays by those disgusting Floyd nuthuggers - that this was the beginning of Pac's draining people. Which is just a complete and utter lie. Pac was the one who was getting cherry-picked and the only reason the figth was at 147 at all was cos it was the only way they could justify Oscar picking on a midget with one fight at 135.
I meant the comparison as 2 fights that had risk upfront, but were dismissed by the haters in hindsight due to the opponent's shape. DLH being more extreme in both regards, way more risk upfront, opponent much worse off. I'm a Floyd hater, but I give him credit for Mosley, cause I like to be consistent. He was still a solid favorite, but probably his riskiest fight upfront since pre retirement, till Canelo I guess.

The CW agenda was obvious all along, and really got exposed since Floyd's great CW comedown. You should have come by more a month or 2 ago, some fun times were had. By now everyone is spent (as in satiated lol), but I'm sure some batteries are charging lol
