Margarito beat Cotto but he lost to Williams. Margarito vs Williams II would have made a new lineal champion.

Floyd is/was recognised as the lineal champion because he beat Baldomir.

Yes bradley didnt take the fight with khan because khan was a risk and could ruin his chances at manny,, turned out to be the correct move because 2 years later, bradley has a big ppv with jmm and khan is getting decked by julio diaz
I dont doubt at the time that khan was a threat to bradley, would have loved to see it, but i cant hate on bradley or any fighter that backs out to take a bigger more dangerous fight.....

People mistake Bradley's comments for fear of getting beaten by "the better man". That is simply not the case. Just like on Saturday night, Karass was beating up on Berto in pretty one-sided fashion, I'm sure everyone can agree there. But what happens if Berto doesn't get stopped? He wins a SD on the cards as two of the judges had him up.

Bradley was in Soto-Karass' shoes when the Khan fight was being discussed. He had no pull, HBO was talking heavily about pitting Khan with Mayweather as the "big money" fight. If Bradley fought Khan, there was a good chance that he could lose on the cards even if he beat the piss out of Khan just because it was better for the network to have Khan go on to face Floyd.

Bradley doesn't have knockout power so more than likely, the fight does go to the cards. The only thing that saved Soto-Karass from losing on Saturday night was the ref stopping the fight after Berto got up from the canvas.

Bradley is just a lot smarter than most other boxers, he makes wise choices for his career and it has paid off for him. With a Marquez win, he is going to be a top 3 P4P fighter and a PPV fighter most likely. He will be one of the top dogs while Khan will be closing out his career.

Great point. Khan had the Mayweather fight lined up but he still had the nuts to put it on the line against Bradley. Can't say the same for Timmy

Everybody had margs as #1 after he beatdown cotto, then shane beat him down, then floyd beat shane,,, thats how floyd got the lineal...
At the time manny was #1 or 2 at welter so how can we have a lineal champ when a guy retires, vacates all his belts and comes back and doesnt fight manny........
Its because shane was considered the champ after beating down margs,, and shane lost his belt to floyd.....

So you are basically rewarding ducking. Cotto/Margarito didn't fight Williams so you reward them with the lineal title. Bradley refused to fight Khan so you reward him with the lineal title.

First off jmm is not top three in the world not even top five not saying hes not one of the best but not that high up there!!!!!
