"A lot of people say it's great money. Man, at the end of the day it's still really risky. At the end of the day, let's say I lose the fight, what happens then? I'm out of the sweepstakes with Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao"
That sounds like a duck to me.
He also said he wants to be promoted, he also talks to being stuck with Shaw..Hey everyone can have their opinion..Facts are tho, Bradley contract was up..He'd have to sign an extension to fight Khan..TR offer was better then any gbp or Shaw could offer him, Khan also fight McCloskey and signed a three fight deal while Bradley only had the one fight deal on the table..
This is a business bro, it's easy for fans to see things from a certain perspective that a fighter can not afford to look at it that way..From Bradley pov the timing was not right, and the offer was not better then TR..
He didnt have to extend his contract. Shaw even made this publicly clear. Stop lying to yourself.
You know what I meant. Youre acting like had he fought Khan that he would been stuck with Shaw after the fight. That is simply not true.

Dude he would have ended up in court like he did anyway..Why do that when you have a way better deal staring you in the face..Shaw was not letting Bradley go without a fight..Bottom line..
Last week Timothy "Desert Storm" Bradley appeared on BoxingScene Radio to talk about his October 12th showdown against four-division champion Juan Manuel Marquez. Bradley had a more lucrative offer on the table to face Manny Pacquiao but told us that he feels facing Marquez is a bigger fight.
"Absolutely. I never back down from the best. I always want to fight the best," stated Bradley.
"Marquez is definitely one of the best fighters in the world. Top three without a doubt. I just thought it would be perfect to have a guy like Marquez on my resume. If I beat Marquez then I think I definitely belong in the Hall of Fame and am one of the top fighters in the world."

So let me get this straight. Floyd beating Marquez meant nothing, but Bradley beating a much older Marquez is automatic HOF induction? I'm sick and tired of all these damn double standards. I don't think Bradley will beat Marquez, but somebody explain this to me please.

I get what you are saying but its 2 different scenarios...
Floyd was the #1 guy at welter, had manny to compete with,, yet he chose to fight a lightweight champ at a catchweight and then didnt even make the catchweight...
styles make fights,, anybody who thought that jmm-floyd would be a good fight doesnt know boxing,,
Floyd will never lose a round to a guy that is smaller, slower, less power, older, stationary, counter puncher,,,
YOU ARE NEVER GOING TO OUTBOX FLOYD WHEN YOU ARE THE SMALLER SLOWER GUY,, Floyd had every advantage in that fight, that is why he gets little credit for it..
4 years later, JMM has moved to welter, transformed his body, ko'd manny because JMM excels vs guys that come at him bc then he can counter,, he couldnt counter floyd, because floyd is going to open up and leave himself open to counters..
Bradley will bring a pressing style, he isnt a huge welter, doesnt possess much power, he will give jmm chances to counter,,, This will be a much better fight, than floyd-jmm
bradley isnt the top p4p king like floyd, hell he barely makes some p4p lists
Thats why bradley will get credit

I understand what you are getting at, but their is a significant portion of the boxing public that believes Marquez won the first 3 fights with Manny. I personally thought he at least won 2 of the first 3. I don't know. Isn't Bradley faster than Marquez as well? What disadvantage does Bradley have against Marquez in the ring? I actually thought Pacquiao beat Bradley, by the way.
