Juan Manuel Marquez doesn't get shut out very often!

He's also right about they were used to everything in the ring, boxers didn't train for one solitary game plan back in the days which is why we have so many classics to look back on. Many of those guys fought to their strengths but could change it up if need be to win the fight. Guys today not so much..you have guys changing their entire fighting style years into their careers and struggling with those changes.
Someone said Duran struggled with boxers?? Apparently you missed the LW portion of his career........he WALKED THROUGH THEM.........it's like rating Robinson and only talking about his career AFTER WW.......
If you think Duran couldn't hang with a boxer, you don't know much about Duran.......see his first title fight...........or ANY fight on US soil afterwards where they were trying to find a style to make him struggle. THERE WASN'T ONE..........

Everyone thinks that Duran insulted only Floyd because he said Floyd's name. He insulted this entire era. He said that Floyd would've been ordinary. What does that say about the rest of the era? You don't care. He dissed Floyd and that is all that counts, lmao.

boxing's evolution is not like other sports....
a lot of the coaching and technical aspects have been lost through the generations and most guys today don't know to fight....
Floyd's been taught the old school style, and most other fighters are garbage.... Floyd could hang with the greats, but today's fighters are not in anyway as good as those of yesteryear

Duran's desire to uphold the sports dignity and honor never prevented him from winning his first world title via a blatant and flush shot to the nuts. Didn't stop him from obtaining an advantage early on by thumbing Davey Moore in the eye during their fight. And if you think turning your back mid-fight, throwing your arms up and quitting in a truly significant bout is "respecting the sport", more power to you.

A lot could be said here. How Floyd would stack up to the 'Four Kings' (or three, if you want to exclude Hagler) is a fun and interesting boxing discussion that will probably continue to surface in threads like this for many years to come.
For now I'll just say two things:
1) I think Leonard had faster hands than Floyd, and delivered many more punches in bunches than FM, and ...
2) I recently watched Mayweather - DLH closely and scored it round by round. My final tally: 115-114, Mayweather.
