Two completely different scenarios. Holmes beat a lot of very good fighters. Shavers, Norton, Mercer, Cooney, Unbeaten Frazier, Ali, Spinks, Witherspoon, Smith, Williams.

Most of these guys were solid fighters who had previously fought for a title or held one in most cases. Granted he did fight the odd nobody as did anyone. An he also made 20+ defenses of the undisputed title.

Well, if Vitali could get a fight with Sanders, I'm sure Wlad could too.

And even if not, this was just a reply to the other guys claim that Denpsey didn't do his rematches.

First you can explain to me Willard's long title reign.

Norton was well past it and it was a life and death struggle. ali shot to bits. witherspoon should have got the decision imo. frazier was a poor opponent and more of a blown up cruiserweight. I also thought the carl Williams fight was very close and could have gone either way. he lost the spinks fights ( although I concede he probably eked out the second fight). granted he should be placed higher than wlad as he was never starched in a fight and has slightly better wins but I just don't think there that far apart. I do respect your opinion tho as you at least try to back your statements up unlike some of the obvious haters on here who clearly have an agenda. anyway,,,,its a good debate

Hey Tyson rejected a prime Lennox fight and didn't Tyson beat him up in sparring?

he had a more prestigious title to gain by fighting vitali and had little to gain by beating wlad again but who knows for sure. maybe wlad ducked him maybe he didn't. we just don't know

Well, it's always easy to say someone was shot after he's been beaten. Fact if the matter is that these Guys were solid at the time. With regards to norton, very few had an easy time with him so that's no surprise. Frazier was a hype job of sorts, much like Povetkin or Haye to some extent, though the two latter hae more to back up their claim. People are also quick to dismiss the fact that 2/3 of the press picked Ali to win against Holmes even though Holmes had spent the last 6 years beating him up in sparring.
