Liston is not a top 5 HW.

    Ali
    Louis
    Holmes
    Marciano
    Lewis
    Foreman
    Frazier
    Holyfield
    Johnson
    Wladmir

    Tyson/Liston/Dempsey/Walcott/Patterson, etc.

      Wlad > Dempsey? I don't think so.

I think so. Firpo, Willard and Gibbons are about as good as it gets for Dempsey's resume, plus he made a mockery horsing about being a celeb rather than actually defending his title.

Haha. I've seen that a few times actually. That's even more criminal than ranking Wlad higher than Foreman/Holmes etc..

And which win on Wlad's resume is better than Willard?

Carpentier, Meehan, Miske too. And Sharkey was no bum, nor was Jim Flynn.

Yes. What was so great about Willard? Wlad has a host of wins as good as beating that big Oaf.

No. Willard beat Johnson and was the legitimate HW champion, something Wlad has yet to achieve himself never mind any of his opponents. He beat multiple ranked opponents and held the title for four years. He was big and strong and basically swept all competition to the side before losing to Dempsey.

Beating fat old Johnson in a fight many believe Johnson took a dive in means very little to me. Isn't his record like 21-6 ?

And that is Dempsey's best win? God give me Sharkey over Willard even.
