    Yep I agree.

fantasy match up in judging him on his latest 8/9 years Wld is the best ever.

But from a legacy point of view hes top 5.

He has more knockouts than people have wins and if he stays healthy can still reign till about 42 imo.

        This ^.

He'll never be ahead of Lennox, though.

No. A very very resounding no.

Top 5!? Of ALL TIMES?? I mean are we serious here? Of all times?

If he manages to beat Povetkin, Pulev, Fury maybe KO Haye in a rematch and snatch the WBC belt along the line, then I would consider him for top 10.

Yup. It's getting to that ridiculous stage where trolls are pulling on fantasy match ups to big up his claim.

reading through the thread i really don't see how people are putting wlad over Liston..........liston knocked out a prime Cleveland Williams who was a 6'3 athletic bomber. he also knocked out a prime floyd patterson 2 times (pattersons only real defeats came to liston and ali) the rest of his defeats were highly debatable or he avenged them..........A primed liston himself only lost to ali (we're talking about a prime ali here, THERE IS NO SHAME IN THAT) if someone is gonna look at his defeat to a prime ali and say "this is why wlad is greater" then you're ret@rded & this is why we have the Bert sugars of the world to put things into prospective.

liston doesn't have any hick ups of being ko'd in his prime by far inferior competition.

I know the entire sport, not just the last 20 years. & i know that wlad is not greater then sonny liston........

Not top ten. Maybe top 15.

Very good point on Cleveland Williams. He could **** like not many others could then or since. Unfortunately he took a few losses mainly against great fighters so his reputation is smeared a bit. He's mostly remembered for being severely outclassed by a vintage Muhammad Ali in a couple of rounds. He was sort of the Earnie Shavers of his day.

Right about Liston as well, and though he lost the second fight to Ali, everyone knows he took a dive and didn't have any intention of fighting Ali again. That or he had the mob on his back.

Liston, very underrestimated on here. By myself sometimes as well. But he had the best jab of all times IMO. Him and Larry Holmes.
