You mean he shouldn't do the Martinez and call Mayweather out of the comfort of 160? This is getting so ridiculous man, I don't understand this sport. Floyd is still very much a WW.
If Golovkin does pull a Martinez, he'll lose me as a fan just like Sergio did.
[QUOTE=The Weebler II;13582100]It's just your opinion and you can use as many exclamatory adjectives as you wish, but your opinion it will remain. Same as those who would claim DLH was "a zombie" when fighting Pacquiao - most of the same people who hold these opinions have an agenda (and in terms of fans, quelle surprise...most of them are FMJ fans, wonder why? :-) ).
lol what rot! Cotto and Canelo are both at '54, if they offer Golovkin a fight best believe he will take it (and likely stop them both).
I think Matthysse is more overrated to be honest, Golovkin's on another level skills-wise imo.[/QUOTE
These were the excuses made. Pacquiao and Ward were just better than Dawson and DLH.
Forget then, I'll tell you what I'll say now. You're dealing in fantasy to avoid a reality.
Well what do you say now? The reality is GGG can't make 154 comfortably until he proves otherwise. He can prove it by fighting Trout, Lara or Molina (or any other contender for that matter) at 154 first and then fighting Floyd. The fact of the matter is a fighter will risk their body and health for a payday with Floyd (see Sergio). Then after the fight he can make excuses like Dawson and DLH did (your words). When the truth is Mayweather is just better than GGG.
By the way, Dawson and DLH were drained. DLH wanted the fight at 150 and finally gave in to having the fight at 147. I'm not blaming Manny either because he was a much smaller fighter at the time. That fight just shouldn't have happened. In the weigh in, you could see DLH was in bad shape. Ward and Pac were the better fighters like you said but the weight made a tough fight on paper very easy.

All right stop, you're making me laugh now.

Pacquiao destroys DLH at any weight. Even if they had it 4 pounds heavier the gulf in class was too big, DLH could barely land a punch, he was too slow. Moreover Ward would beat Dawson at '75, what is it you chaps like to say....'skills pays the bills'.
Anyhow, just to be clear I wouldn't actually expect Mayweather to fight Golovkin, he is a beast. I'm just laying it out once again that FMJ's not a guy to take on all-comers, he's a cherry-picker and has been for over a decade.
Floyd is held to such a high standard, he's called a cherry picker for not fighting a guy two divisions above his natural weight. Imagine some ridiculous bull**** like, "Will Uchiyama stop fighting midgets and stop ducking Matthysse? Or will he keep on cherry picking guys like salgado?"
Dumbass clowns that have been following the sport since 2010.
So i guess you guys have already given up on your last great hope (canelo) to beat him now you guys have moved up to another weight class in hope that a brawler beats a great boxer. lol. ggg wouldnt beat floyd either. He drops that weight and then has to try cutting off the ring against FLOYD. he will be dead tired by the 4th rd with no energy left. and floyd will be dancing around his ass potshotting him.
In what universe does beating GGG mean this much? The guy isn't the best MW in the world and as of this email his best win is Macklin, yet you say beating him qualifies floyd to make comparisons between himself and SRR, SRL, and Ali.
If you like GGG thats cool but you should be embarassed about what you posted. Maybe you were trying to say something else and it didn't come out right.
English is not my first languaje, so excuse me.Floyd himself said that "I'M better than Muhammad Ali, I'm better than Sugar Ray Robinson"...Well...Sugar Ray Robinson fought the MW champion, Leonard fought the Middleweight champion, Durán fought the miiddleweight champion...
And Golovkin (middleweight champion, IMO the best middleweight champion by far, time will tell, but I'm pretty sure, and right now I think this is the prevalent opinion among boxing fans), expresed his desire of go DOWN in weight to fight Mayweather at his division. And Mayweather, who is supossed to be the GOAT, will not accept to defend his title aganst the khazak (I think), never...
Also, he didn't fought Martínez at a proposed catchweight of 150! And that fight was much talked at that time, would had give him a lot of money and especially legacy, maybe part of the supossed legacy Mayweather claims he have, for a start. And, contrary to the case of the Golovkin fight, he would have win that fight, but if it's risky, don't take it.I'm a bussinesman, health comes first, I'm a rich coward.
GGG already called Floyd out. He should be gunning for Martinez, Chavez Jr, Ward and Froch.
Sergio did it for years without ever making an effort to actually make it happen, and cherry picked guys like Darren Barker. I'll give Golovkin his chance.
Golovkin also called out pretty much everyone from 154 to 175, not just Mayweather.
