Remember when HBO's budget was all messed up for the year for committing like 3m to Bradley and Alexander's next fight after that fiasco? But in any business losing 40% of you annual budget in one day is tragic.
There's is nothing to prove they lost 12 mil and CBS who generates a hell of alot more tham Time Warner who owns HBO. Are smart enough to know it's going to take more than one fight to become the #1 brand in boxing and it's seem they are willing to pay for it.

No, not really at all. The "casual" fans will buy the fight for the Mayweather name alone and the Hispanics will buy it for the Canelo name. Who else cares about the Garcia-Matthysse fight besides the hardcore fans (and the PR's and Argentinians)? They are covering all angles with this PPV because Showtime put the hammer down on Haymon and the Mayweather team.....you are dealing with CBS here, they aren't some small time up-start company, these dudes are a billion dollar a year entity. If they are paying you 32mill a fight, you had better bring in numbers and when they say jump, you better be saying how high? They could have let this fight "build" or whatever but Showtime lost big money on the last fight, no hating that is just what happened..................HENCE, why those numbers are "gone with the wind"

It bombed, that much we do know, and so it should have done. It was a disgraceful rip off.

It's been 2 & a half months since the fight!

I googled it and have different sites saying different things,
so are the official ones released or what???
It was on track to do 1.2m buys, but then 300,00 people heard Ruben Guerrero's interview, where he said that Robert Guerrero wasn't going to use the jab, and they all decided "Fuck that, these motherfuckers are crazy"

CBS and Showtime only had the Guererro fight as a guranteed fight they could have washed there hands with the contract if they took that of a massive lost. The other 5 fights was optional. The Canelo fight was always the plan for September thats why it was supposed to be the Co-MainEvent for MayDay. Now they are building Garcia vs Matthyse in the way they wanted to do with canelo.

Absolutely, but the prospects were dire if not for Canelo. They can afford a 1 time 12m hit, but not repeat, and some of the choices would do even worse on ppv, like Alexander. And even small PPV misses come out to large losses, for the investment they have put in boxing. You come out just 100k short, and that's near 4m loss. That's 2 very decent cards.

This is not how boxing works. I can guarantee you that had Floyd's numbers not even broke even, he would've been ****ted on by a leaked source. I didn't expect Floyd Guerrero to do big numbers as SHO imo didn't either, but I know that they expected the fight to do more than break even which i'm betting it did.
SHO could be disappointed that they could've made a bigger profit, and they could even come out and say it. They didn't. Floyd right now can't make big money unless he fought a Canelo. He can't do that with PAc coming of an embarrasing ko loss, a Matthysse, a Broner, a Lara, a Trout. Right now Canelo is the only fighter who could create a big buzz in boxing and bring his own crowd.

                    Exactly. It's common sense.
