Imo, Oscar succeeded in mauling him in a way and almost won being 35 or so at that moment (lost only by split decision). With Hatton he struggled and sc****d through the first half of fight with the help of the referee who didn't allow Ricky to implement his inside fighting style (as he was allowed with Tszyu) separating them as soon as Mayweather seemed to be in trouble. Canelo has power but I doubt he is capable of sufficient pace/workrate/stamina

Canelo is still skilled enough to compete with Floyd, it's just that to beat Floyd you have to be able to beat him inside and out...and I don't think that Canelo can fight inside.
I've had some of the same concerns. Can't see it either.

When Did Oscar maul floyd?.. oh yea.. That sustained attack to the body(Jim Lampley voice) where he was hitting him in the ribs and doing no damage. Guys who have tried to "Maul" floyd are Hatton and Hernandez... neither succeeded. That split decision was a gift to oscar..

Too bad Canelo is no mauler. He will get mentally broken down like everyone else.

Sorry Roberto, Alvarez isn't a whirlwind like you were.

Just about every other Mexican legend would love to have a Mexican finally beat Mayweather so don't for a second think these people haven't been consulting other greats who've fought Mayweather. Unlike many of Mayweather's other opponents I think this kid is going to be ready for anything. That's just my humble opinion.
Oscar lost 9 rounds. He's given advice to everyone Mayweather's fought lately, and they all get their ass kicked.

Great in theory. In practice Canelo will not be able to hit Mayweather often enough in succession to make it feasible. The reality is that Canelo may land one or two punches by throwing wildly but in doing so Floyd will cut him up with accuracy and progressively break him down.

Every time Floyd fights its the same thing, do this, do that but they never do. Often times they try to get dirty in there and that just makes it worse. Just like most fights, if Floyd is standing after round 3, the fight is over. He's made you throw your game plan out the window and wait... for... it....LEAD RIGHT. Come round 6 this site will be abuzz with talks of GGG or Matthysse next.
