This is No Mas trying to give advice? That style only worked against Leonard in their first because Leonard stood flat foot footed. That style didn't work in the 2nd fight because Leonard moved and made Duran look like a fool. That crap can only work If Floyd stands still. Canelo is power fighter. He needs to set up to get the kind of leverage he wants on his punches. I watched his fight with Lopez and his combos were effective. But his feet were planted and Lopez stood there. Nice try Duran.

Canelo has the possibly best person suited to advise him in Oscar seeing as how Oscar actually faced Mayweather and also knows what mistakes he made. I do not expect Oscar to send this kid even remotely under prepared for this fight. Just about every other Mexican legend would love to have a Mexican finally beat Mayweather so don't for a second think these people haven't been consulting other greats who've fought Mayweather. Unlike many of Mayweather's other opponents I think this kid is going to be ready for anything. That's just my humble opinion.

Yes Oscar tried and succeed in mauling him in a way. Oscar lost only by split decision and many people consider him as a winner. Not to mention that he was 35 or so at that time.

Ricky Hatton style... His fans love that entertaining "inside fighting" style that Joe Cortez didn't allow him to perform on Mayweather 2007..

I agree with his strategy to beat up on Floyd as much as you can. The only problem is it takes a fighter like Duran who would be relentless, but also being able to take shots cause Floyd's gonna counter that wide open style all night until you get to him.

Push 'em and bust his arms, ribs, kidneys up he will wilt sooner. Canelo should play this game dirty give Floyd the fright of his life.

Mayweather has this tendency, sometimes, to stay close to the ropes and use his exquisite defensive skills and outstanding counter-punching. One who really embarresed him, imo, was Jose Luis Castillo, who was denied the decision in one of their two fights, as far as I'm concerned (can't remember if it was the 1st or the 2nd). But Castillo was a formidable inside fighter at this point. He kept pressing the fight and really gave hell to Mayweather. He didn't went at it the way Duran is suggesting, but with more accuracy and intelligence. I think anyone who goes at it no holds bar or so with Floyd is going to find himself sleeping on the mat pretty soon; his counter-punching is just too good.
Another fighter whom in my opinion often outboxed Mayweather is Juan Manuel Marquez -yes, I know, some will be surprised to hear me say this. But Marquez' punches had nothing; every punch he connected with had no effect whatsoever on Mayweather; on the contrary, every one of Mayweather's punches seemed to be shaking Marquez to his toes. So Floyd gradually completely took over. A bigger and more powerful Marquez could do it, imo, but Alvarez is no such fighter.
In fact, Alvarez, as was said, is not a volume puncher. He's just a big puncher with great body shots who gets his man gradually by hurting him more and more. I can't possibly see him do this to Mayweather, who is way too fast, way too good defensively and way too cleaver to succumb to such a style. Besides, Canelo is hittable. Mayweather is going to pick his shots.
Thinking of it, I can't see how Alvarez could win this; I'd be very surprised if he was. As to Duran, the old fighting animal, he's talking more about himself, I think, than he is about Alvarez. Manos de Piedra still sees himself in that ring...
