If you dont think Floyd's legacy is overrated then you dont know much about the history of boxing

dudes resume doesnt compare to ali, hearns, leonard, oscar..

His skills are amazing but he has dodged too many big fights to be considered an ATG top 10.... His resume is the only thing that is overrated...
Some guys on here think he has just the greatest list of opponents ever when in reality, he has cherrypicked most of them...
Like when he went to 140 and challenged the great bruseles, corley, and gatti... When the division had unbeaten hatton, cotto and champion tsyzu

Nope. Let's put it this way. Even other ATG fighters acknowledge his skills. People that have actually done it at the highest level give him his just due.

We not talking skill per say.....I mean overall....I think everyone agrees his DEFENSIVE SKILLS are top notch....but is being a GREAT defensive minded fighter get you ATG status?? I ask.....

I would say yea, winning in a defensive way is not an easy way to win, it is a good way to not get beat up but very few can turn a defensive style into a long successful run. In general I would say anyone that has taken any style to it's highest form is very noteworthy, and I would say defense is trickier than most.

Overall there is a lot more than just that though, although being one of the best defensive fighters ever will always be one of his main calling cards and I would expect his defense to get mentioned first in all the paragraphs that explain whatever his ranking is.

Calling someone out in an interview is the most effective way to get a fight done, even Larry Merchant gave Hamed a lee way out by saying Nasseem won't fight you Floyd after your decimation of Corrales. Larry Merchant followed up on most of those post fight call outs Floyd had made by asking the men themselves. Oscar always said Floyd wasn't marketable, Kostya stayed silent, Mosley complained about his tooth, Casamayor got his ass wupped, Freijtas stayed silent.. Bitch the list goes on you don't want me to bring up more video evidence so I advise you do a little more research instead of going on another unfounded rant. Tyson always lost when faced up with another major player such as himself, Leonard popularity mostly awarded him fights against say a Hagler, Duran ****ing quit, Pacquiao don't belong in a sentence with any ATG, etc.. Mayweather has a seat among the all time greats whether you like it or not.

People always claim Floyd duck this fighters so he is over-rated.. What no one seems to notice is that before Floyd became a marketable name, none of these guys you people name wanted to fight Mayweather. Mayweather was the most avoided fighter at lw.. Tsyzu didn't want to fight him, Shane Mosley didn't want to fight him, Oscar De La Hoya didn't want to fight him. Casamayor or Freijtas none of these guys that had names wanted to fight Mayweather, they already knew they was going to be embarassed.
