Some have a missed opportunity but Floyd has more than one. He could have silenced everyone but chose not to.

I have no problem with Floyd fighting for money but then one can't come back and say, Floyd took on all comers because he didn't .... not even close and that is why we use the word overrated.
I like the fight as far as the technical side of it. The chess match. As I said had he imposed his size I would give him 0 credit. I rather see a match of wit than a brawl. That's the closest ill get to seeing a truly high level chess match. Yes I know I'm boring. I also watch pool championships for the sane reason.

The size was still a factor. If Marquez was as big as Floyd while Floyd came in looking like Marquez, Marquez would then have been able to do a lot of things that he couldn't that night. While Floyd would do little because his punches would have little affect.

Floyd was fighting in his division so he felt good. Marquez was fighting 2 to 3 divisions higher than he was accustomed to. So he was not comfortable and out of shape trying to make the WW weight.

A chess match where the outcome is known is not exciting. It has to be competitive or else there is no point! Floyd fans were saying "but Marquez is rated #2 P4P" ..... but they are in different weight classes!!! That is when the resume is overrated.

Marquez lacked the speed and athletic ability to deal with Floyd and always will. Floyd actually outboxed him mentally much more than physically beating him and I think that frustrated Marquez more than anything not the size advantage. I do agree that if there were same size it would have been a better fight. Was it a cherry pick? Of course but I like that it was more of a test of wit than a brawl. They both kept making adjustments seeing each adjustment back and forth was interesting. I am a big Marquez fan and glad he got a payday and respect his fight game.

By the way I don't count the fight as a mark on his résumé good or bad but a mark to his ring IQ which I get more impressed by than KO or beat downs.
