i agree but its not all about resumes thats not even a defense of mayweather i just think we over rate someones resume as the soul reasoning behind if someone is great or not. so if mayweather beats pac man and whoever else does that make him great i dont buy that

      Is Floyd overrated?

Chavez, Duran, and Sweet Pea laughed so hard they farted when they heard Floyd needed OSDT to fight a little Asian midget. Floyd fans make him out to be the GOAT but it's funny he's not even the greatest in 1 decade, the same darn decade he was fighting in.

Mayweather might be overrated in here but most rankings have him where he belongs.

That would be it. He's a skilled boxer, no doubt, but its more about how he managed to avoid dangerous fighters while fighting those that somewhat looked good but didnt present much of a threat to him. Dangerous KO artists at their prime he avoided like the plauge. We've seen him duck some of the best, and his record shows just that.
To me he's an amazing business man, but not an amazing boxer.

Depends on who you're talking to. There are those who say he's the best in the sport at everything who overrate him, and there are those who say he's average and a runner who underrate him.

Resume is usually the best way to determine greatness. How else do you determine greatness than by who you proved it against? Andre Berto looks like the GOAT against the right competition.

So yeah, beating Pacquiao would have done tremendous things to prove Mayweather's greatness.

Depending on who you are if he is or not; to me he's in the middle he's not top 10 all-time nor a bum these dumbasses would claim he is I say top 25 ATG but the best I've ever seen live.

Ummm, what boxer today has a resume comparable to Duran, Leonard, Ali and Hearns????

                  Floyd Mayweather? No
Manny Pacquiao? Yes if he would have kept it up, but he started letting Arum feed him easy fights. So NO!
Shane Mosley? No because he lost most of his major fights.
                  Miguel Cotto? No

The only fighter that has a resume comparable who be Benard Hopkins, Oscar Delahoya.

So everyone looks overhyped compared to them.

if you say floyd is the greatest ever then yes you are over rating him. if you say floyd is the best of his era you are not over rating him.

I defer to what naazim richardson said about him the other day as the proper way to rate him. its in my sig.

Lol gtfoh just because mayweather called them out in an interview you think he wanted the fight?! He clearly avoided kyosta... Have you noticed everyone he calls out are the fights he doesn't take?!?!? After Shane Mosley fight he called out Martinez... What a effing joke. Martinez offered him a ridiculous split at 154 for some reason i remember a possible cw like 152 or 150 could be wrong tho however a weight where Martinez would definately be venerable (struggle to make it)... Duck!! Next after the Ortiz fight called out pacquiao lol!!! Offered him a 70/30 split lol!!! You need to judge his actions not his words! Dude is a pathological liar. Most recent case I remember him saying that he doesn't fight at catch weights, he wants the fighters at their strongest when he faces them. Lol!!! People say who's going to be the next mayweather. I say I hope to god nobody. I want the next tyson, srl, hearns, hagler, duran, de la hoya, and even pacquiao.... But please not another mayweather.
