Styles! Canelo is not a pressure fighter like Angulo. If you give Lara space to work with, you are in for a long night. That is why Angulo was so effective, he took the fight to him on the inside. Canelo won't do that, he is more of a boxer. That little space will do wonders because it allows Lara to move and counter.

It's the way I choose to categorize boxers. You've got A-level, B-level, C-level, and then you have elite. The LMW division is filled with B-level fighters because they haven't done enough to differentiate themselves from one another. All are relatively skilled/talented, and I think they are capable of making for competitive match-ups until proven otherwise. Canelo has fought one good 154lb opponent in Trout, who's best wins are Cotto and Delvin. Cotto's best win @154 is Yuri Foreman and Delvin's best win is Wolak. If Canelo cleans out the division, then I'll rank him as an A-level fighter. Fighting WW's as a LMW does not make you an A-level fighter.

Angulo is probably heavier-handed, but I don't think the difference in power is that wide. Canelo is faster/more explosive than Angulo, which makes up the difference. Surely, Lara won't want to stand in front of Canelo and eat shots.

The difference that fans should be looking at are the styles and stamina. I'm sure that Canelo will not fight Lara the way Angulo did, and I don't think he's even capable of doing it either. He'll have to find a more effective way of getting to Lara.
