Angulo gave Lara a tough fight, but he does that to everyone. He's tough as nails and while Lara can punch, he isn't a KO artist. I expected a hard-fought victory, but I didn't expect Lara to get KD in the process. He had to get up off the deck twice to earn his victory cuz Angulo refused to hand it over. It doesn't make me think less of him because this was the first bout where he was forced to dig deep for a victory.

Beating Trout does not all of a sudden make Canelo an elite fighter, but it's a step towards the goal.
He gave Kirkland trouble for 1 round got dominated the rest so no he doesn't give everyone trouble. Kermit Cintron out boxed him 8 to 4 and was nowhere near as hurt as lara was

people think canelo is god because he beat trout and like 30-35 washed up 140lb fighters while he fought at 147lb ,lara is way more elite than canelo by a long shot! for now...

Then by that logic, Canelo has to beat Mayweather to be called elite. Trout beat Cotto who is "elite" in the sport.....Trout is not elite?

Lara is a sucker for the left hook to the body.

          Canelo by body shot KO.

I don't consider Cotto to be elite. Becoming elite doesn't happen in one fight, and beating an elite doesn't automatically make you elite either. I don't use the words "top" and "elite" interchangeably. Canelo is a top fighter because he beat Trout, and beating Mayweather would be a great foundation from which to start his legacy onto becoming an elite fighter, but it doesn't make him one. For argument's sake, let's say Canelo beats Floyd and then in his next fight loses to Lara, does that mean he should now be called an elite fighter?

Styles make fights. Angulo opened up Lara by applying non stop pressure, chasing him, and ate punches along the way. Canelo is not a pressure fighter, even if he applied the same strategy, he doesn't have the stamina to do it. I still have Lara winning by decision against Canelo.

Lara would school the **** out of ginger just like Floyd will.

Tonight changed nothing from my point of view it only confirmed that Lara would beat the snot out of Canelo.

When Alvarez moves forward nonstop throwing punches nonstop maybe I'll consider him doing what Angulo did against Lara. I'd like to see how Alvarez would have handled someone who is huge, hits hard, and never stops throwing.

I think Lara would do enough to win the decision, but not get it.
