[QUOTE=The904star;13447174]How was many dominating the fight when he got put on his ass in the 3rd. And he gotten up from his face plant, he would be down on the cards. No one should get credit for how good they looked before getting put to sleep. PAC got put out by a dude he has seem 3 times before. That alone should take him off the list. He apparently learned nothing in those 3 fights. He also got a gift decision in the 3rd.
I see your point but JMM is a top p4p guy.. manny won rounds 1,2 -got caught sleeping in 3 and knocked down, came back and dominated 4,5 and all of 6 till the perfect counter..... Manny was dominating the fight till BOOM, lights out..
Horrible defeat but to a guy that is also a top 5 p4p...
If manny got laid out by a non-p4p he would be off the list...
Just like how JMM is still high on list but got owned by mayweather..
I dont think it hurts you when you lose fights to guys higher on the p4p list
Much like serg getting beat up by murray who is a tough guy but not even top 20 p4p, thats why serg off my list and manny is not
Yeah but those guys were at least somewhat legit in the division. And there's way more of a stigma around "bringing" (loaded term) guys down in weight. for good reason, it's often a bad idea. Mosley was able to yoyo between welter and sww, but wasn't really ever an effective sww. Glen Johnson did pretty good dropping down for S6, but he's impervious to pain
Everyone has their opinion on it but I don't agree with Iron Dan's notion of totally writing the win off and saying Ward hasn't done anything at all.
The question is whether beating a prime potentially drained Dawson at 168 is better than beating a shot war-torn Cotto at 154 where he has never looked good.
Neither win is spectacular but I don't buy the idea than one is better than the other. If you can write one off, you can write the other off too imo.

I think Cotto is a borderline top 5 SWW, and he's not shot IMO, just undersized at 154 and past prime. He fought pretty well vs much bigger Trout, IMO. He had a somewhat legit (non vacant, for once) belt at 154, though not much to write home about.
I can see Dawson sparked by a lot of fringe 168ers. He's fighting one this week, lets see how it goes at 175. Though it's not fair, since it'd be a miracle if he is where he was at mentally before Ward

Just my opinion
That's cool. Was Marquez a top 5 p4p guy on your list before he ko'ed manny or is he top 5 because he ko'ed manny?

He was top five before that. I had him #4 behind floyd, ward, and serg
Mainly due to the fact i thought he outboxed manny in the 3rd fight, and he cleaned out lower weight classes beating champ casamoyer, diaz, katsisdis, barrera,
He did lose to mayweather but i dont penalize a guy for losing to another top p4p guy let alone a #1 p4p like floyd

As I say, I don't think either win was great but I couldn't definitively say one was better than the other and going back before those two fights I think we can safely say Froch was a better opponent than Ortiz.
It's all opinions of course but Ward keeps his spot for me.
By a roided opponent who was losing the fight. Fcuk that, Pacquiao was beating Marquez and he beat Bradley too, he deserves to retain a spot in the top 10.
