The man has spoken. Nacho knows, he's been right in his recent picks including rigondeaux vs doner.

hope he has'nt forgotten that mayweather has the tools to defend and counter and that he also said that mayweather is the greatest fighter in the world.

i'm an unbiased mexican and this is the lamest thing ever that nacho has said. its like a excuse should alvarez lose. and if alvarez does throw more than 3 punch combinations and then do it over again.which is hard to do without him getting tired. he better be prepare to take cover from the counter incoming.

I agree with nacho I believe this fight is in canelos hands if he comes in great shape b patient and box, show a lot of feints and let mayweather bring the fight to him and counter him he has a chance I don't believe that mayeathers bread & butter pot shot will work against canelo with the movement he showed against trout, he has to take some risk but not to much everyone here is saying pressure is the answer but mayweather expects that and he has always handled the pressure very well he should not chase mayweather around the ring he has to somehow control the ring if he wants to win but that's easier said than done

The biggest issue is pace. Canelo takes half of every round off. Floyd will be able to fight at a comfortable pace for all thee minutes of every round. Canelo cant win on points (unless its bought and paid for) so he has to stop Floyd. His giant ass had better hope he can get Floyd to the ropes and just bomb away like Cotto did. Floyd wont look great because he never does at 154, but he should win pretty eaily if he gets into the middle rounds still on his feet. This fight will be exciting for about 4 rounds, and then Floyd starts to land at will on a tired Canelo. Canelo needs to take it to him early or hes losing on the cards. Although Oscar wont allow the cards to be so wide that Canelo is embarrassed going forward.

[QUOTE=NEELZ;13438702]I've giving Alvarez a great chance to win. In fact I think he will win. He will hurt Mayweather in this fight more than Mayweather will hurt him. People are picking Mayweather by rote and habit. Making the same old tired arguments they always do. Mayweather will dominate and probably stop etc.

Mayweather is getting older and this is the first true non-cherry picked and riskiest contender he will have faced in a decade. It is not going to be the same old tried and true result. Mayweather is in for a tuff go. He must have been coerced in this. I know the masses won't be convinced until they actually see it happen. But this is the fight that Mayweather loses.[/QUOTE same old predictions that all the past forums said, Floyd will lose he is " GETTING OLD" I mean he ain't getting no younger.... But what he has is called 17 years " of " EXPERIENCE"! So while canelo is supposingly "hurting" Mayweather what is Floyd doing, standing there open to be hit? C mon bro, and btw you said this is Floyd's 1st non "cherry picked" opponent, pls explain and name what 42 opponents that canelo has fought? Are they notable? Let alone why or how has canelo do what took Floyd 17 years to do, take him only 4 years? Things that make u go hmmmm..... Compare resumes with Floyd and tell me how many cherry picked opponents were they truly, I mean it's funny how he "cherry picks" opponents but got place in the guiness world records from the dela Hoya fight. In which de la Hoya still had something left. Man bottom line your just a typical Floyd hater that will do almost anything to see him lose. Oh.... Last but not least check boxing rec .com and observe the "so called" 42 opponents that canelo has faced and there records and I think u might wanna choose who u call "cherry picker" peace!

Patience is only applicable when your opponent takes the fight to you. When your opponent is Mayweather, or anyone close, you can't afford to lose a single second of every round. Before you know it, you're in the 12th round trying to KO the guy knowing that you're way behind points. Frustration takes over resulting in unforced errors.

mayweather only fights like that against southpaw boxer punchers. its the tactic to when. he'll school the convention alvarez in a different way.

Honestly, I'm with Nacho. I really think people are under-estimating Canelo in this one. I think it's Floyd most dangerous fight in a long time.

While I would never, ever bet against Floyd - I think this is going to be a difficult fight for him. Canelo is young, strong, talented, has great boxing instincts and poise, a varied attacking arsenal of punches, and has enough arrogance (some may say mis-placed) to not be intimated by the aura of Mayweather. Canelo is a different calibre of fighter to Guererro, Ortiz, Hatton, who are made to order for Floyd.

The stamina is a huge problem, and not helped by the CW. If Saul can get in the shape of his life (and why shouldn't he, he's 22 and gonna fight one of the best ever fighters ever, when he's past prime), then I really think he's going to cause Floyd a lot of problems. This is not Robert Guerrero we are talking about, people.

Canelo should do what he has to do IN THE FIRST SIX ROUNDS. Patience will get you nowhere when you have stamina issues going in the last half of the fight. If he can't do it in the first six rounds, he's over.
