This is the fight game, and in the fight game any fighter can have a off night and be exposed, or get caught with a good shot. Stop looking at past fights as a precursor to future fights. Devon has improved since the Kotelnik fight, and has more than enough athletic ability to present Floyd a few problems.
Devon Alexander may not be popular he deserves a shot at May..has best chance winning

Not really if people stop hating and see it for what it is. A ATG cementing his legacy defending his crown fighting young hungry contenders. Devon has enough on his résumé to put together a nice commercial reel. Bradley, Urango, Bailey, Matthysse, Maidana are all recognizable fighters which footage can be pulled from.
People need to start embracing the fact that Floyd's career is coming to a end, and the build up to guys like Canelo, Martinez, or Pacquiao start by sewing up the 147 division.Comment

Wait what? This is the fight game, and in the fight game any fighter can have a off night and be exposed, or get caught with a good shot. Stop looking at past fights as a precursor to future fights. He lost to Bradley and then Lucas beat his ass.Comment

Your a total moron if you think Alexander can beat Floyd. He is not a skilled fighter.Alexander is a young fight in or reaching his prime, holds a title at 147 is more accomplished than all the other possibles Like Garcia, mattyssee, and canelo....also he is more skilled and has more tools to defeat Mayweather.....mattysse like all big punchers is grossly overrated and would get outboard and only has a punches chance.....I saw the fights Judah beat him
fair and square. Wasn't pretty but the job got done. canelo has wouldn't he has one win over a ranked guy at his weight. Garcia has good fundamentals and heart good counter skills would actually punch with Mayweather to land a shot which is how you Ko a figter with good defense. Alexander is a southpaw has a very good trainer has heart improved good speed decent power and punch variety. titles at two weights beat better Como than the rest.id he isn't next that's cool. Of he keeps winning he should get a shotComment

Alexander has a lot of "off nights", it seems. This is the fight game, and in the fight game any fighter can have a off night and be exposed, or get caught with a good shot. Stop looking at past fights as a precursor to future fights. Devon has improved since the Kotelnik fight, and has more than enough athletic ability to present Floyd a few problems.
He lost three fights in a row. The only reason he's "improved" is because he's been fighting lesser fighters.Comment

My point went over your head. You can pull footage from those fights and make Alexander a selling point. Bradley is recognizable to the casual fan, Matthysse may be as well, but officially has a lost to DA as well.
My point is you can sell him as a champion and creditable fighter because he is based on his record, belts, and body of work.Comment

You clearly didn't watch his last fight where he didn't pitty pat at all and through combinations all night.
You can say Devon has 3 loses all you want, but that doesn't make it true. He has one, that's it. There is no dis*****g it, maybe you and others think he lost fights, but all that counts is his official record. Hell, tons of top champions have disputed wins on their records, but that doesn't change their record.
As for Devon deserving the fight, who deserves it more at 147? I get people want Canelo and that should be next, but if the fight falls through then Devon is the best option, period.
And to everyone calling Devon a quitter, he sure showed some heart on Saturday fighting rounds with a broken hand. Whether it was a tough fight or not does not matter, we have seen others quit for much less.Last edited by turkas; 05-22-2013, 04:32 PM.Comment

Devon Alexander is literally one of the least marketable fights out there for Floyd. My point went over your head. You can pull footage from those fights and make Alexander a selling point. Bradley is recognizable to the casual fan, Matthysse may be as well, but officially has a lost to DA as well.
