If he's at his best at 154 and he's strong and he's solid, then that's the fight we're fighting at. I walk around at 150, but at the end of the day - skills pay the bills.

When I fought De La Hoya, I said 'give him to me at 154.' With Cotto - 'give him to me at 154.' Give me the guys where they are comfortable at their weight so there are no excuses."
with canelo i said, give him to me at 147, cause at 154 that mofo ain't slow and he hits like a truck...lol

Ok I hope this is just posturing because even as a fan of Mayweather this is indefensible.

Why fight at welterweight v Pacquiao, Marquez, Floyd, Bradley who are all live opponents when you can jump them, fight Matthew Hatton for a vacant light middleweight belt and defend against Ryan Rhodes and old Shane Mosley. Now you suddenly can't make welterweight at ****ing 22???:*******:
both are champion at JR MW....Canelo wants the best fight at his weight..the only way to do that is to fight the other champion in that division....Have a unification fight and beat the other champions is what Canelo wants....it is what is since Floyd happens to be the other champion at JR MW and the current no#1 lb for lb fighter in the world, this make the bout that Canelo wants to prove himself and the rest of the world that he's the best in this division....

You do realize that canelo was a teenager the last time he was a welter.

and the baldomir fight was at 154 and that was 2 fights before hatton fight.

you do realize that has guys get older especially between 18-22 there body really develops and cant make the smaller weights anymore..

It woould be like asking floyd to fight at 135 again....

Floyd is ducking canelo at 154.

          TRUTH

Canelo should fight Andre Ward since they're about the same weight on fight night.

No dude, sorry but you´re wrong, Cotto's best weight is 147 not 154.

I can deal with it, go and pay $70 to see May school another 147lbs.

Like I said, until an official statement, Im not buying any of this ****. People will buy into anything....and run like Usain with it. Hell, one guy on this thread has posted about 60 pictures criticizing, and badmouthing floyd based off of this.

I like Canelo, and I like Floyd. I think people look for any and every reason to knock Floyd. No, he is not the stereotypical "super-hero" esque fighter. No, he doesnt kiss every fans ass. But at the end of the day, he fights the best competition available to him. ESPN had an article posted today about the differences between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd and you would be suprised what they said. At best, Manny Pacquiao's fights are more of an attraction/entertainment orriented. Floyds fights, and the competition he fights are legit. This should be obvious in the quality of fights that you see with them.

As for Canelo, it really doesnt matter what what he fights at. He gasses, hes flat footed, and he has limited head movement. He's a deadman at 154 or 147.

Yes!! We ALL know that Floyd is going to duck Canelo. Floyd just run as fast as you can towards the other incredible WW in the division like Paulie M, D. Alexander, D. Garcia, A. Berto, T. Bradley and K. Brook, said nobody ever.
